This was a delightful experience! Our tour guide Chai made it perfect. She was funny, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best guides we have ever had. The property is gorgeous and we had a great time.

The young lady giving our tour was very friendly and informative. She made the tour interesting and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour and their coffee. We learned many new things.

While on the Big Island near Kona we knew we wanted to do a coffee tour but weren’t sure which place to go. Greenwell Farms had great reviews and kept coming up in searches so we decided on that. It is very easy to find and right off a main road. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Before the tour we sampled many varieties of coffee and looked through their gift shop. Tours are free and seemed to start every hour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the coffee process and the history behind the land and the family. It was interesting to find that coffee is not the only thing they grow and that they own other plots of land around the island. The tour probably could have been 10-15 minutes shorter but that is a very minor quibble. Even my son tried the coffee and is very proud that his first taste of coffee came on a farm in Kona. We bought some coffee to take home and think of our fun visit to Greenwell Farms when enjoying it.

Visiting friends on the Big Island and they took us to the Greenwell coffee tour and it was terrific! The plantation was so beautiful and our guide was is informative. We learned so much about the coffee process and believe it or not, the Black pepper process. We finished the tour with some of the freshest and best tasting coffee I've ever had. We strongly recommend this tour if you have the time. It was truly educational and wonderful.

Super interesting tour that lasted about an hour. I learned a ton about the process of making coffee and how much quality control goes into making sure the beans are high quality. Definitely recommend this tour.

We had a great tour with YaYa. She was so knowledgeable and just a genuine pleasure to talk with.
Greenwell is a pretty farm and the coffee was delicious! Totally worth the trip and the hour tour.

My family had an amazing time on the coffee farm tour. The guide was amazing and she explained the coffee growing and harvesting process so well. This is a must for everyone looking to tour a small Kona Coffee farm!

Know before you go. Bring some closed toe shoes like sneakers and an umbrella. They do have umbrellas there, but you will have to leave them behind when you leave the farm and you will risk getting soaked like we would have if we had not carried one with us. You will be doing alot of standing and walking and wile sandals are ok, mine werent as comfortable as sneakers. Also, sometimes it rains up there because you're a tad bit higher in elevation. It's better if you rent a car if you're staying in Kona because Uber+Lyft can be expensive and it took us a while for us to connect with a driver because of the distance+internet connection from the main town. Sooo, with that info out the way..... If you like coffee, then this is definitely the tour for you. If you are lucky, I would suggest that you get Matt as your tour guide. He has this coffee thing down to a science. I mean LITERALLY. He goes to Coffee conventions and has his own state of the art coffee maker machines. So If you want to know about good coffee and how it's made, Matt is your go-to guide and your man. The best part of this tour is that it's FREE! They also have a variety of FREE different coffees to sample before you buy it. There are also 2 resident cats roaming the property. The one we ran into was Cream. If my memory serves me correct, her momma is named Sugar. In addition to learning about coffee and how it's produced along the Kona coffee belt, they have a variety of fruits there. I saw some avocados that I wish I could take back because they cost so much here in NYC. I also saw some pineapple plants and a banana tree. The one thing that I learned about coffee that stuck out were the different types of roasts and how they are relevant to caffeine potency and flavor. The lighter the roast, the higher the caffeine potency and quality. This was an enjoyable tour and I would definitely recommend stopping by for a visit and a free cup of sampled java. I would definitely stop here again. It's FREE, but don't forget to tip your tour guide well!!!

Great experience! Learned so much about Kona coffee production. Went with 14 and 11 year old boys - they were not bored. Worth the stop!

We would just like to thank Nate for a fantastic coffee tour. He was very informative and made us all laugh. It was really interesting to learn how coffee beans are grown and processed. The tour was free and it came with free coffee tasting. All the staff are very friendly and I would highly recommend visiting Greenwell Farms and learning about Kona coffee.

I will be visiting in April 2018 but will not have a car. How easy is it to take a taxi to and from the plantation

We booked a taxi for a few hours and the driver acted as our tour guide. We saw a lot in a few hours and he was the one who took us to Greenwells Farm and the free coffee tour.

I am not aware of that. BUT agree with the other review concerning online coffee purchase either type in browser Greenwell Farms Coffee or use the website Greenwellfarmscom

Did they tell you they will roast your coffee beans for you? They do so for our farm which we sell to others. They do a rather Professional quality job! It is crowded and busy in there so probably best that you did not go inside! It is well organized and efficient for certain.

Our roasts are enjoyed by a lot of folks who know where we are at and how to ask for them! We are on a century old coffee farm with about 4 dozen neighbors who all have small family coffee farms.
Greenwell is in the middle of many others.
