Visited on July 3rd and it was busy. The bartender handled the crowds well and my husband and I were served our beers in a short time. The crowds thinned as we were ready for our second beer and we decided to order some food. We ordered our food and took our beers back to our table to wait. A bit later, a woman and 3 children under the age of 10 years came in and went up to the bar. We had been waiting for about 15 minutes for our food when the children were served their food. We waited another 10-15 minutes and my husband went up to inquire about our food. He was told the oven had been full. We went up to the bar to sit and the bartender finally went to what I believe was the microwave and pulled out our food and served it to us. The food was barely warm and the cheese that had melted while cooking had firmed up again. Disappointing. As an aside, I watched one of the girls grab a plastic fork from the basket of utensils on a table, walk away and then come back and put it back in the basket. She again returned to the table and grabbed a knife from the basket, clean her fingernails and then put it back in the basket. As it was sitting above the others I was able to go and grab it and I threw it out.

Two stars because I like the atmosphere but the beer is terrible. They bought nice, new equipment and opened in a cool new location but they cannot brew a good beer. All the beers are chewy, cloudy and lacks real clear flavor! The bees are not true to style like Amber, IPA, Pilsner, etc. None of the beers have any hop profile all the flavors mesh together. They can’t brew a beer over 5% because clearly they are not using enough malt and instead are using corn and rice. All the reviews on Google are from locals and the Untapped reviews are a much closer representation of the actual beer quality. Go to just about any other brewery and you’ll find these beers pale in comparison.

I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon taproom tour and there happened to be a Badger game going on so the taproom was filled with badger fans. The beertender was super friendly and helpful. We grabbed a couple seats at the bar and ordered up a flight. The gentleman behind the bar shared a couple menu's with us and the couple next to us gave us their recommendations. It's a little hard to find as google maps took me to a side entrance which I almost missed but there is a better marked sign next to The Next Place Bar & Grill. When you enter, there is a bit of historical Breweriana, and then a trophy room with 40-50 Deer heads in it and then the taproom. My understanding is that they will be moving to another location soon, but I loved this old school location even though it may not be the easiest for older people or those to with disabilities to access. Great atmosphere, free popcorn and worth a visit if you are in the area.

We visited this brewery after seeing it listed in a promotional flyer for "fermented beverages" in NW Wisconsin. We were delighted with our visit. The brewery is located in a historic building which dates back to the late 1800s and was originally the local brewery. The owner was behind the bar and was more than happy to share about his business and what he knew of the history. The brewery does not serve food but welcomes carry-ins and has food trucks on Thursdays in the summer months. If you go, you have to check out the group or party room! It is one of a kind!
