Very nice Washington State park. One bathroom was non-operational. My wife and I hiked the Boy Scout Trail which connected to the Umatilla Rock hike. The Boy Scout Trail part is poorly marked and a bit of a maze. There is a notch on the north side of the Umatilla Rock that to the. trail goes through. A bit sketchy down climbing on loose dirt and gravel. You enter the Dry Falls basin, which is neat, but tough to get a great overall look, as is available at the visitor center outside the park proper on Hwy 17, a bit over 3 miles from the Sun Lakes campground. We recorded 5.8 miles round trip on this lollipop shaped trail. Lots of wonderful "in-your-face" geology that establishes the firm science of the cycles of cold and warmth the Earth has gone through for millions of years. I saw at least two camp parties firing up their grill or camp fires despite the burn ban. The showers were not pristine, but were free and had HOT water. We had full RV hookups. Rented a kayak and had a nice slow, cool morning paddle. Would go back.

Between the fresh snow and just all-around beautiful scenery, this place is massive and an absolute “must-see!”

Wonderful vistas.

Great geology.

The scenery is not what to expect from Washy state. Feels like AZ. Grand Canyon on a smaller scale.

Well worth the effort to visit.

This is an amazing swimming spot compared to other local areas.
The water was great temp, there is plenty of space so you can be away from other people. There are plenty of different spots with varying depths, so adults and kids can go swim.

Keep your eyes peeled if you decide to walk out to the "dock" as it is covered in bird poop.
There are many tables to choose from and parking is abundant.

Not sure if this happens often, but the wind was very strong in the campground after sunset. We watched at least one tent go flying. Cut our trip from 2 nights to just 1.
Bathrooms clean, tent sites on gravel were really basic and tight together. Kids loved the swim area.

I thought that I wanted to see the Grand Coulee Dam. However, a friend told me that if I had seen Hoover Dam (which I had) then I had seen GCD..and offered an alternative site to visit... the Dry Falls...which we did. It absolutely knocked our socks off. We weren't expecting the amazing topography and education regarding the creation of the Dry Falls that we received at the Interpretive Center. I now understand what a coulee is and having seen the Dry Falls can imagine what an awesome sight it was when water ran through it - It dwarfed the Niagara Fall by 5 or so times. It is an incredible sight. Seeing this set up what we were to continue seeing as we traveled from Coulee City on Hwy 2 West. We did not stay at the State Park only visited the Interpretive Center and the viewing area..We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the grounds. There is a vendor there that you could purchase items to eat. We brought our own. The staff at the center was friendly and the service was great.

Fantastic geological formation. Lake's are warm cliff jumping is cool and the best part is it is really dark at night so you can see the milky way. Check out the other lakes with a kayak or canoe

The visitor center is interesting and well maintained. There is a highlights movie and a small gift shop. Also there are some concession stands to grab a snack before or after.

Great place to picnic, swim, and hang with family and friends. If you are a guest of the resort, you will not need a discovery pass to use the day use area. This park also has camping and is located next to Sun Lakes Resort where you will find a number of wonderful amenities to enjoy during your stay at the park.

Check out the reviews for Sun Lakes Resort for all they have to see and do.
