Love the view from here and even though the center was closed on Wednesday, there was still information posted outside of explaining this geological wonder.

Dry Falls is probably one of the most impressive places on earth, if you use some imagination.
The interpretive center will do exactly that for you......Help you use your imagination to understand the enormity of events that occurred here a few thousand years ago.
An ice dam broke during the last ice age and released a body of water the size of the great lakes...!! This resulted in a 300 foot wave that stormed downward at over 60 mph.
The resulting waterfall, located opposite the Interpretive Center, was the largest waterfall ever, and flowed with a current stronger than all the world's rivers put together!!! Wow!!
Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area, or even a big detour if you aren't......
Very Impressive!! Great Views!!

Stop here to learn about the huge falls that once flowed through this dry region during the melting of the glaciers. The center has a great view as well as a video and other information explaining this amazing place.

Be sure to take the drive up to this place up the Coulee Scenic Byway. The views are pretty spectacular. The Interpretive Center itself has some awesome views and good information about the falls. Definitely a must see if you are in the area. Staff are knowledgeable and willing to answer all questions.

The view was nice and information signs outside where interesting. However, after going inside and watching the old grainy documentary.... WOW! Mind blowing.

I still couldn’t quite understand the scope and size of things, but Ranger David walked me through the wall displays & really was a great guide.

I bought 2 books in the small gift ship and wondered why I hadn’t been interested in geology before. Time to change that.

I finished off with a nice hike further south to visit some caves.

I have wanted to stop here for years, and was not disappointed. The visitors/interpretive center could use some maintenance on the south side, but it turned out to be a very interesting building. Looks a little like a toadstool with the second story cantilevering past the small base. However, that cantilever provides much-appreciated shade for conveniently placed picnic tables. Upstairs, the overlook is quite well done. Excellent interpretive movie and exhibits. All in all, a great stop. To the fool climbing on the fence at the overlook, use your common sense, man!

First, if you are traveling between Seattle and Spokane by car, you would never see this place. It is 50 miles north of I-90 on Hiway 20.

The Center tells a very interesting story about this area during the last Ice Age and how the falls were carved out by flood waters. The ranger offered numerous interesting stories and I was amazed by the shear size of the area.

Glad I stopped and I really think you will be too

Stopped here not even knowing what to expect.
It is a very impressive view of the canyon. The centre does an in depth job of the history of dry falls.
Parking is limited but being off season we did find room for our motorhome.

Be sure and go into the interpretive center and watch the video. It's great, and the ranger who's running the place now is really friendly and knowledgeable.
