噴水に癒やされる

噴水に癒やされる公園です。とびきりすごい噴水ではないので、ついでに立ち寄るのが良いと思いました。興味があれば行ってみてもよいかも。

Disappointing

Found this park on TripAdvisor, pictures looked really nice so we decided to visit. Very disappointed! No waterfalls, nothing tranquil about it. Park actually looks run down. Maybe we visited at a bad time but I wouldn't plan to visit again.

overrated, probably not worth your time

If you already happen to be in the area, it is barely worth a quick walk-through.
Definitely do not make a special trip to visit this park.
Tranquility Park was disappointing. Definitely nothing special. Fountains were mostly dry with trash in them. Transients hang out here. Although I kept my distance and they did not bother me.

We were looking forward to having lunch at Tranqulity Park. We located it with no problem, paid to park, and then we became very disappointed. Fountains were dry and dirty, there appeared to be no recent park maintenance, there were only two picnic tables and no bathrooms. The only upside was that the city view around us was very pretty.

The fountains are all dry at this time of year. Not very attractive. Several homeless hanging out. However the park in front of City Hall across the street is lovely. The azaleas are in full bloom now.

Nothing special about the park but great location for views of downtown and close access to attractions

This is a stark concrete park with columnar water features that was built in honor of Houston's role in the manned space program and our landing on the moon's Sea of Tranquility. It is used as a venue for (mostly free) outdoor concerts and is located in Houston's theater district, 1-2 blocks from the ballet, symphony, opera, Broadway theater, off-Broadway theater, dine-in movie theater, Aquarium, Hard Rock Cafe, etc etc etc. It is really right in the heart of Houston's culture scene. It is built above a vast underground parking garage that spans several blocks that service all of those venues. You can sometimes find street parking for $2 an hour.

The park itself is not beautiful but it is nice to have a space in the middle of all of the arts venues and skyscrapers to be able to sit down and look up. The water features all around you are nice. It's a good place to sit and decide what you want to see and do.

Good park with fountains

Good place to take a walk. The fountains are now working again. It is next to city hall and the Sam houston historical park -- string them together for a good stroll. 😎

From the other reviews, it sounds like this park has gone through some very scary times. Yet when we were there, it seemed fine and safe. We were there early on a Sunday morning, so the whole area was actually quite deserted, but fountains were running and the park seemed inviting. Granted, apart from the fountains and related structures, there is not a lot to see or do here.

Do not let the negative reviews scare you away. My friend and I came across this park when exploring downtown Houston and thought it was very neat. The fountains were running and I was very glad to have stopped and looked around.
