Visited Wimberely and wasn’t aware that the caves were located an hour from my hotel. That’s fine my fault but then notices I was double charged and can’t reach anyone to rectify the charges. I’ve been calling for days and can’t reach anyone at all. How can I get my money back ?

Since your tickets were purchased through a booking agent, you must contact the agent of purchase. Do you have your booking confirmation? Perhaps you could email the address on the confirmation. You may also try contacting Viator - at (888) 651-9785.

We arranged for tickets the night before online and arrived twenty minutes before our tour. The cave is located outside of Boerne on privately held land. The tour guides were busy with two large groups of third grade students and their parents wh arrived late. The guide assured us they would be able accommodate our tour and they did. The cave is unique with it’s underground “food court” and terraced pools and our knowledgeable guide made the tour ever so enjoyable.
We’re looking forward to visiting again soon with friends and family.

We enjoyed our trip to “Cave with no name”! Mike was our tour guide. A cave enthusiast himself, who has visited many caves in different states. His tour was not only very interesting, but educational also. I would definitely recommend visiting this cave.

This is a nice cave to visit. It is not as spectacular as some of the larger caves that I have visited, but was worth the visit. We were in a small tour group, led by Steve and he was very patient with our curious grandchildren. Our 10 year old granddaughter rates the cave 10 out of 10. She really enjoyed the tour. There are a number of steps down to the cavern ( I believe 168) and so there are also that many back up at the end of the tour! The cave is a little off the beaten track, but the GPS got us there with no problems.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the cave. Great photos opportunities. Guide took a great picture of us in the cave. Cave was bigger than I thought it would be. Glad we we went!

Grandfather took 3 and 5 year old grandchildren and it was perfect. Tour takes about an hour which is perfect for young children. Significant amount of steps but they (grandchildren) led the pack on the stairs on the way back up at the end. Highly recommend.
I can’t say that this cave is any more spectacular than other caves, but don’t miss it if you’re nearby and looking for an activity with children.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this tour. The cave is well lit, creating awesome photos. Our guide, Taylor, was knowledgeable, professional, and personable.
Tips:
1. It’s not 66 degrees like the website says. It might be 66 degrees during winter months, not not in July. It was closer to 76 with the humidity — but still better than the 100 degrees outside. This chilly willy took a jacket but it stayed tied around my waist.
2. Wear tennis shoes with traction. The rock is smooth and moist. Don’t be that guy who shows up in flip flops and then gets mad they’re turned away.
3. The echo game is strong. If you’re planning to converse with your husband, bring small children, or cough the whole time, then please stay home because the group can’t hear the guide over your noise. It’s mind blowing how disrespectful people can be.
4. Most importantly, bring cash to tip your guide. They work hard to provide a fun and educational experience.
I highly recommend this tour. I can’t believe it’s taken me 15 years to check it out.

Our tour guide, Natalie, did an incredible job showing us around the cave and had so many interesting stories to share with our small group! We were uncertain what to expect since my husband has some mobility difficulties but Natalie couldn’t have been more accommodating or patient with us as we moved at a snails pace, especially when ascending the 176 steps back to the surface. This was our 11 year old’s most sought after experience for the summer and wrapped up our spur of the moment, mini vacation perfectly before heading home. So grateful for the kindness offered to us by everyone we met here!

The cave is a great small cave. For a senior it was just the right size, and our great tour guide was very patient with the children. We've seen a number of caves in our life, and think this was just right for a not too long caving experience. The 126 steps up on the way out were not easy for me with my lung issues, and our great tour guide made me feel like I was doing a favor making her stop on occasion. Rated it a 5.

Cole gave us a great tour of The Cave without a name. He kept it very interesting by telling little small jokes and stories along the way. Great job Cole.

Hi I’m
Planning to visit this along with my family tomtorow and I have a 7 month old baby.. is it advisable to take him into this cave ? Or is it best for all of us to skip it ?
Carissa B
San Antonio, TX48 contributi
If you can wear the baby in a harness or sling, it would be just fine. :) Definitely no stroller access though!
Are dogs allowed on the tour? I am unable to leave them where we are staying unattended but am really hoping to fit this in on our trip.

Boerne, TX1 contributo
Due to the cave's sensitive ecosystem, the only animals allowed in the cave are service dogs. If you have a kennel, you could leave your furry friends in our office while you are on your tour.
Is it okay to wear flip flops in the caves?
Sissy581
Keller, TX33 contributi
Not really, I wore shoes, that were ok with wet and slippery stairs. I wear flip flops all the time but not there. You have about 124 stairs to climb down and back up so you need good shoes. It isn't a bad climb and well worth the effort to see it.

Are the Tours and Scheduled performances 2 separate charges, are there packages for both in 1 day, and where can I find this info?

Thanks for the great question and the suggestion we add a note to maybe the bottom of each concert event.
Tours are separate from the shows. Between Labor Day and Memorial Day, the last tour of the day is usually at 4 PM with most concerts starting at 7 PM; between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the last tour of the day departs at 5 PM with most concerts starting at 7:30 PM. The tour cost is $20 for 13 and over; $10 for Youth 6-12; Children five and under are no charge when accompanied by an adult. (more information on our web page under the "Tours and Prices" tab. (Sorry, but Trip Advisor does not allow links in our answers.) Purchase your tour tickets at the visitor's center. The tour takes about an hour. If you want to take the last tour of the day, you may want to bring a picnic to enjoy after the tour and before the concert. Picnic tables are on the grounds.
A "Buy Now" button is on the concert page - again you need to access the web page and go to the concert of interest for details. It is less expensive to buy Advance tickets. If you prefer, you may call the cave at 830.537.4212 to purchase your concert tickets.

Thank you for your answer. What time is the best time to arrive to avoid line ups? How long will the wait be for the tour? If we have 11 people do we need to book ahead?
675paulette
Boerne, TX1 contributo
The first tour of the day departs at 9:15 AM; the next at 10:00 AM and then every 20 minutes until 5 PM. The longest wait is 20 minutes. We look forward to your visit.

Will it be busy tomorrow? March 18.

It is the last weekend of Spring Break for many schools. It has been a busy week. However, additional staff and frequent tours allow guests to see the cave without long waits. Other activities - hiking trails, gift shop, mining sluice, hopping rocks, geode cutting - round out the country visit.
There are still a few tickets remaining for the Spring Solstice, Saturday night, March 18th.

How elderly friendly its the tour?
675paulette
Boerne, TX1 contributo
The only entrance/exit to the cave is 126 steps. There is no rush in or out on the steps. Handrails are available. Many seniors - even 90 plus - do the cave; many cannot due to health issues. The duck under mentioned above is no longer an issue. Courtesy of recent construction in the cave, only those over 6' 3" need to duck to enter the cave. A visit to the cave is a truly memorable experience.

theater in cave without a name?
675paulette
Boerne, TX1 contributo
Based on the definition of a theater, "a building or outdoor area in which plays and other dramatic performances are given . . . ", the straight answer is no.
However, there is a large room accommodating 200 people with about a forty foot dome ceiling, a stage, and seating area. The dome creates amazing acoustics. Nature yields amazing surroundings.
Performances range from folk music to Opera, from Broadway songs performed by amazing actors to classical renditions performed by amazing talents.
Attending an event in the Throne Room of Cave Without A Name is a most memorable experience!

I heard you have theater in this cave? Schedule of coming theater there?
675paulette
Boerne, TX1 contributo
Musicals, weddings, corporate events, etc. in the Throne Room are truly memorable experiences. Nature's views are beautiful; the acoustics are dynamic. Performers and attendees are amazed. During the spring of 2016, a raised performance stage became a great addition. In the process of building the stage, the "duck under" was removed as well.
