We booked our trip online, it was easy and hassle free. Unfortunately we had to reschedule our trip, due to insufficient passenger numbers on the timed trip we had booked. The lady who made contact was very apologetic and polite while explaining the reasosn why. Whilst this was a little inconvenient it didn't detract from the experience. On arrival we were greeted by Ant who checked us in and ensured we would be warm enough for the duration of the journey, by offering heavy water proof and wind proof coats, and ensuring we had fitted our life jackets correctly. Once onboard the vessel, Skipper Dave gave a comprehensive safety brief before we set off, with the right mix of sincerity and humour. His knowledge and commentary was incredibly detailed and informative. From the geology of the rock formations, the history of the island and its inhabitants, to the resident wildlife and the tales of local seafaring folk including the seafaring disasters. We were fortunate to see atlantic grey seals as it was towards the end of their breeding season. We also saw Pourpoise and a number of rare birds. All in all a fantastic trip and highly recommended. For what we saw and experirnced on the trip that lasted just over an hour it was great value for money too.

Brilliant experience with a 3 and 5 year old! I wasn't sure how they would find it and how easy it would be taking them by myself but the crew were amazing and helped my 5 year old down the slip and made sure both were safe at all times. Very knowledgeable and lots of fun!

Had a fabulous trip out around Ramsey Island, managed to see plenty of seal pups up on the beaches and a few older seals swimming around.
David and Rosy were excellent in their knowledge of Ramsey and the surrounding area. The manoeuvrability of the boat into the small caves and out on the open sea was first class. Thank you, skipper

Wonderful 60 minute experience on a rib around Ramsey island seeing many seals, some harbour porpoises, inside some caves and some amazing rock formations. obviously the wrong time to see the many birds that nest there.
Ruby was informative at the many stops.
Genuinely fun experience.
At this time of year you need to be aware that they are not going out every day but we were lucky to get on a trip before we left the area.

We had a great one hour trip around Ramsey island on a RIB. Rosie and Dave were our crew and had extensive knowledge of the local area. We saw seals and numerous pups as it was mating season. Even got to see some porpoises who were feeding in the area. Great experience.

We booked an hour long trip to Ramsey months in advance for 11 am aware that this would be just after high tide and therefore good for a boat on a channel with huge tidal ranges. We were contacted 4 days before and told that there was a problem with the boat but we could pay an extra £30 pp to go on a bigger boat or go later. We opted for the later option to leave at 2 pm. The day before the trip we were rung again to be told that due to tide times we had to leave at 3:15 instead. This meant we were leaving at the worst time and 7 hours before high spring tide. The RIB was now very difficult to board.
The trip was enjoyable due to the seals but I was truly shocked at the amateur nature of this company and truly horrified at the poor pontoon and that they took 4 dogs on board this trip.

Thank you for your honest review Mrs Doyle. Having looked back through our booking records, I can confirm that you were originally booked onto a 1 hour Ramsey Island Voyage at 11.30am and had booked well in advance, although high tide was at 08.24am on your date of departure during a week of extreme tidal changes due to the Harvest full moon, so it's likely you would have been boarding from the top slip of the lifeboat station regardless. With it now being outside of the peak summer season, we had decided to take one of our boats off the water and so had to rearrange our existing bookings so that we could please all of our customers and make sure that they could all get out on the water during what was a fantastic week of weather. It was unfortunate that your 11.30am reservation clashed with another booking, so we contacted you a few days in advance to offer you to either join them on a longer 2 hour trip leaving at the same time (and pay the extra), or rearrange to later that day onto a 1 hour trip as planned - and you agreed to depart on our 15.15pm 1 hour voyage. While this was closer to low tide, we ensure that our passengers can safely load and unload from our boat and have plenty of crew available to help with this.
We're sorry to hear that you felt your experience was not what you'd expected. We take great pride in our customer service and hospitality, both during the booking process and out on the boats, and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from previous passengers over the last 33 years. We welcome dogs on our 1 hour Ramsey Island Voyages due to the nature of the trip and proximity to the mainland should any problems occur, and ultimately it's down to the owners to know whether their dog is comfortable on boats or not.

The brochure says suitable for all ages and abilities. Not true, access is very difficult if you have any mobility issues at all. Having said that the trip was great but had I known before booking about the 64 steps down then more steps up to the old lifeboat station before getting on the boat I would not have gone.

Thank you for your honest feedback and we're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the boat trip with us. However we're sorry that you felt the boat slipway itself wasn't as accessible as you'd have liked. This past week has seen unusually extreme tidal changes in Ramsey Sound due to the Harvest full moon and, with low tide occurring in the middle of the working day for most of the week, this has impacted how and where we can load and unload our passengers from the boat. Our slipway crew members do everything they can to assist those that need it, and give you plenty of time to make your way to the boat, too. We do also advertise on our website that there are a number of steps to get down to the old lifeboat station at St Justinian's, but I will pass on your feedback to our team and look to advertise this more clearly going forward. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We have run a few of our Offshore Voyages this season and have sighted Dolphin and Minkie whale. We schedule these trips to run daily from the end of May until the end of September.

An old question, but for anyone else who is wondering this, we took a 4 year old and an 8 month baby and that was fine; the skipper wasn't concerned about it. The baby had their own lifejacket and sat on my wifes lap, a quick breast feed at the start and she slept through it. Do get seats at the back, rather than the saddles in the front.

We allow dogs on the Ramsey Island Voyage as long as you are happy they will be well behaved. Please just let us know that you have a dog when you book.

I hear that Voyages of Discovery have a new disabled access boat Viking Surveyor. Where does this boat leave from ~ my husband would not be able to manage all those steps at StJustinian.
