The Time Machine at Mansion of Mystery was my first experience of an escape room. I was so impressed by the whole thing. On entering the building you are lead into the reception room that is wonderfully set up with all sorts of interesting historical artefacts. This room sets the scene for shifting into a different time zone. The story line for the Time Machine escape room is great and the set up, decor, objects were very cleverly thought out. And the Time Machine itself is really wonderful. We needed lots of prompts being total beginners and these were dropped in by Agatha our host at just the right moments. I would highly recommend these escape rooms especially as part of a day out to Picton castle and grounds.

Thanks for giving us such a lovely review, Sarah. Agatha and her colleagues are always there to help with extra clues and suggestions so that no-one gets stuck trying to solve the tricker puzzles - that's no fun as we know from experiencing other escape rooms. But experienced players can rest assured - we only offer extra clues if you ask for them.

We really enjoyed our escape room experience at the Mansion of Mystery Escape rooms. The escape room was challenging but not too difficult which gave us a great sense of achievement when we escaped. It was also fantastic value as entry to the Picton Castle Gardens and Welsh Owl Garden & Zoo was included in the price. We spent a very pleasant morning strolling around the gardens and looking at the animals followed by lunch at the onsite cafe. We would thoroughly recommend trying the escape rooms and enjoying the wider venue.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review and for pointing out the terrific value of the "bonus" included with your escape room game. Family entry to Picton Castle for a family of four would normally be £34 and you get that for free.

A brilliantly thought out escape room. We brought a group of 10 year old boys as part of a birthday party day at Picton Castle. Planning beforehand was straightforward and the team were friendly and easy to contact. They even arranged to have an item taken out of the waiting room due to a phobia.
On arrival we were met by the amazing Ky. They were the perfect game host for our group of boisterous youngsters! Special mention has to be given that they immediately picked up that the birthday boy was Autistic and gave us advance warning of a potential sensory issue and arranged for him to leave the room at the right time, even going as far as sitting him with their own fidget toy to keep him occupied. Ky was bubbly, friendly and the birthday boy realky enjoyed their interactions.
Our group escaped (with a fair few hints), the other team failed this time but we will definitely be back to try again.

Great escape room, the best one we’ve done so far. Everyone enjoyed this one and we had children aged 8-10 who enjoyed it as much as we did. Very well created, friendly staff and useful tips if needed. Lovely house and grounds to enjoy afterwards with a fantastic Spanish tapas style cafe. Huge thanks, we’ll be back to do the other room on our next try to Pembrokeshire 😊

We had the pleasure of experiencing the 'Mansion of Mystery,' an extraordinary Victorian/Steampunk escape room located at Picton Castle. Our chosen adventure was 'The Time Machine.' We completed the room as a diverse group of six family members spanning different generations – from grandparents to teenagers. With teamwork and excitement as our driving forces, we successfully escaped within 56 minutes, creating lasting memories filled with fun, laughter, and enjoyment.
What truly made our visit exceptional was the comprehensive package that accompanied the escape room challenge. Our entry not only granted us access to the mind-bending escape room but also offered a delightful journey into Picton Castle's enchanting grounds. We explored meticulously maintained gardens and had the privilege of visiting the captivating Welsh Owl garden and zoo. The bird display was a highlight, made even more special by the knowledgeable keeper who exuded genuine passion for the birds in their care.
While the escape room provided a unique and immersive experience, the extension into the castle and gardens was an unexpected delight. The limited glimpse into the mansion's interior was a fascinating addition to our adventure. The experience comes highly recommended, with the suggested time frame of two hours beyond the escape room itself. However, I found that this span was indeed too short, considering the charming Ovally Tearoom onsite. Our family ended up spending a fulfilling 3 to 4 hours, and we could have easily spent more time relishing the enchanting surroundings.
In conclusion, the 'Mansion of Mystery' at Picton Castle offers not just an exciting escape room, but an all-encompassing experience that caters to diverse interests and age groups. Our adventure in 'The Time Machine' was a resounding success, and the opportunity to explore the castle, gardens, and delightful bird display only enhanced the entire outing. This is undoubtedly an attraction that merits an extended visit to truly savor all the wonders it has to offer. Wow - thank you so much for your stunning and very detailed review Leanne. Would you like a position in charge of our Public Relations team? Seriously, you have done a terrific job in pointing out how amazing the Picton Castle experience is. It is one that we are very proud of creating. Sadly, changes at the castle mean that we are unable to expand which means relocating the Mansion of Mystery to a new home (with space to add more escape rooms) but inevitably there will be a bit of a gap before we are able to reopen. In the meantime our visitors have until the end of September to pay us a return visit if they would like to complete "the set" and tackle either the Time Machine or Spy School.

Great communication with the MofM team prior to booking our session, very accommodating for our specific requirements, just shows sometimes you just need to ask and if possible they will aim to please!
Some of our group had experienced an escape room before, others hadn’t, but we all enjoyed the rooms and had a laugh trying to solve the clues.
The hosts were very good offering clues when they could see we were getting stuck, or missing the obvious! “Some draws don’t have locks on!” Was my favourite!
The castle gardens had accessible paths for a wheelchair and also around the owl sanctuary.

We had a great time doing the Time Machine room. The room was creatively done and the setting was very atmospheric. The puzzles were challenging enough whilst still being possible. The added bonus of it including entry into Picton Castle's grounds and gardens and the Welsh Owl garden and zoo made it the best value escape room we've done!

Went here for a surprise Birthday treat after a dash round Skomer island. It was brilliant! Went with family 7-70yrs and they all loved it, we got locked in, it was very cleverly put together! The ticket also allows access to Picton Castle, so we have a lovely walk around the gardens, could have easily spent the day there entertaining the whole family

The Mansion of Mystery really does seem to be popular with everyone. In fact, our oldest players have been in their eighties and set a cracking time to make their escape - it probably helped that they were all cryptic crossword fanatics. But you don't have to be champion problem solvers to enjoy the experience. Our games masters are always on hand to offer extra clues if you get stuck at any stage.

We visited here during the school holidays with three adults and a 17 year old. We have experience several escape rooms in various parts of the uk and abroad, this one was particularly good. The host was friendly and informative. We completed the Time Machine escape room in 38 mins 46 seconds which we were told was the record! Such great fun.
The ticket to the mansion of mystery escape room included entry into the beautiful gardens and Welsh owl zoo, so proved to be good value for money.

Thanks, Edmund, we aim to please. The addition of the various delights of Picton Castle are an "added bonus" that make us the envy of other escape rooms in the county - all of which are also excellent, by the way. We hope you will find time to visit us once again at some time in the future and try your hand at "Espionage" and see if you can set a record-breaking time there too.

We had fantastic time at the mansion of mystery escape rooms! We were there as part of a hen do and decided to play competitively in 2 groups of 6 (one group in each room playing at the same time). It was so much fun having the extra element of competition to see who could get out first. The games masters were great fun too. We loved the spy/espionage theme room, it was tough but we made it out with 23 seconds to spare! I would 100% recommend giving this a go if you are in Pembrokeshire.
