We've visited the gallery a number of times and bought more than one exhibition painting. The staff have always done their best to be helpful. The cafe staff (manager?) is now letting the side down. We went in and waited for about ten minutes to be seated at a table as the signage sensibly requested. Other people were coming in and (probably in ignorance) going straight up to the coffee serving hatch. After a while I asked that maybe we should be dealt with before others. A man came out from the back, didn't ask what the problem was and told me repeatedly to be patient. I tried to explain that I was and had been, and to explain the problem, but he refused to listen, and told me that if I didn't like it I could go to the shop or leave. As he walked away he told me not to aggressive - and I had to point out that he had approached me and not the other way around. Clearly his attitude is that the customer is always wrong, and he has no responsibility for administering the system his signs demand.

Used to love visiting oriel môn as it's local. The gift shop side staff are lovely and helpful. I can't fault their welcoming and professional attitude.
However, the cafe staff, on this & a previous occasion, are rude. Firstly we were ignored by staff for several minutes, which meant we were in the way of people trying to pass.
We were curtly asked "have you booked". We hadn't, the website does not indicate bookings are required, nor are there any signs at the cafe to that effect. We were then told they were busy, which despite more tables empty than being used, we accept due to covid safety measures. We were offered a table, if we left after 40 minutes. But we decided not to accept as we didn't like the staff attitude or rude tone of voice.
We'd like to go again as we're hopeful management will address these issues and reinstate better customer service and communication.

We've been here before for a Tunnicliffe exhibition, they still display many of his works at the gallery and this was really our reason for a return. A great little gallery with the aforementioned display and a large section devoted to local artefacts from the stone age through. A great visit.

This is a great Gallery, I hadn't seen the work of Kyffin Williams before, it was so good. There is also a museum showing welsh history, and exhibitions too. Definitely a good place to visit.

Lots to see, with an interesting timeline of the history of Anglesey. Some excellent paintings, including some by Kyffin Williams. The gift shop was also very interesting.
And finally, having read the advice from other reviews, we booked a table in the cafe as we went in! We had a delicious meal. The staff were lovely and we felt very virtuous in that the cafe supports the local hospice.

Whilst looking for somewhere to visit on a rainy day we stumbled on this gallery. It was a lucky find as we really enjoyed ourselves learning about Anglesey's heritage and culture. We found it extremely interesting and not boring at all.
Whilst some of the art work was not to my taste I will return when next in the area.

One building, 3 things, Museum, gallery and cafe- with a shop.
ok 4 things!
The museum is first class and covers the history of Anglesey and much more. The signs are clear and I learned a lot. Highly recommended. The gallery is good, the cafe looked enticing but
they were fully booked, so ring beforehand.
I can’t see why this doesn’t come top of the list of museums on Anglesey.

If visiting Anglesey you must visit Oriel Ynys Mon museum!!! Every year when we visit Anglesey, the museum visit is a must!! This year was no exception. When we arrived it was raining heavily! The warm reception we had from the ladies on reception was incredible! Nicola and a lady called Eleri helped us with our therapy dog and our surplus bags. These ladies made us forget the rain with their sunshine welcome. We booked a visit to the museum and lunch. Each time we have lunch here it always is first class food!!! Due to the bleak weather my husband and I opted for a cooked breakfast! Wow what a treat! It was the full works. The amazing chef was His who came out of the kitchen to ensure everyone was enjoying her home cooked food! Ps everyone was raving about her home cooked chips! Well done Oriel great art exhibitions.

Made sure to give this place a visit after it re-opened on Wednesday. We had to book a (free) ticket online however there was also a booking station inside where you could get tickets if there were spaces left. The staff were welcoming and very helpful as usual, there was hand sanitizer outside every room as well as the entrance and masks are encouraged. The shop was fully open and the café was serving drinks, cakes and breakfast items to take away. The only thing closed off was the childrens' section of the permanent gallery (no children in our party so didn't bother us!) but as usual lots of interesting stuff in the galleries.

The exhibition at the moment is 'Between Man and Earth' by Lisa Taylor and is well worth a visit, lots of vibrant colour in there.
