Not the grandest historic home, but the docent leading the tour was outstanding in relating the history of the owners of this harbor view property, the Civil War and afterwards. Stairs are not too difficult either. We enjoyed it.

Beautiful home -- Recommended

Beautiful home with an amazing location. Tour was well done; you get the opportunity to see first and second floor. (Interesting: family of one of the 19th C owners lives on 3rd floor.) Beautifully furnished. Situated on the Battery. Down the street from Rainbow Row houses.

Interesting and included with Middleton

It’s the home of a family ultimately connected to the Middleton plantation and interesting to see townhome living at the start of the civil war. It was interesting to stand where Beauregard stood at the start of the Civil War.

We had a nice visit. Tours happen 15 after the hour and 15 before the hour. It lasted about 40 minutes. Enjoyed seeing the house, learning it's history, etc. It went at a good speed. Also a site for the filming of Outer Banks.

Amazing historic home in Charleston

Amazing historic museum home in the battery area of Charleston. Volunteer tour guides are very knowledgeable. Furnishings are family heirlooms and period correct.

Great Find

We had a great time with Carol as our guide. She was personable and very knowledgeable about the families who lived and worked here. She was very engaging and we left feeling we had a bit of insight into Charleston’s history and this beautiful home’s inhabitants, their contributions and their daily lives.

This was an awesome tour! It was nice to escape the heat and learn a little about Charleston history. The tour guide was great and easy to hear and ask questions. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting!

A must - see historic house

So much history- the tour and house are fabulous. I can't wait to spend some time in the Bed and Breakfast behind the main house.

Beautiful look into the past

Very impressive tour, house furnished within time frame. We had two young children with us and the tour provided a little “seek and find” page that was interesting and entertaining for them. Two levels of the home were part of the tour but no bedrooms. The palazzo view was terrific.

We really enjoyed touring this home and our gentleman tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth it!
