For 50 years back when Mr Callie was there, this was a great place to take friends and family. If you are traveling, bring your friends back some Pocono Crunch.
From chocolate covered gummy bears, to pretzels dipped in white chocolate, they have everything, even treats for yourdog.

I can't really imagine how a location like this could get bad reviews - and mine will not be one either! This is a very large store for this type of product. They had all sorts of unusual candies and everything we bought was amazing. Definitely go, explore and buy - you will not regret it.

Much wider assortment than we expected and great quality. Happy customer service. Will say that “museum” is a little generous a word on that side of things. But if you’re coming for candy, you will be satisfied.

Was not at all what I expected. The website I saw seemed to suggest that this was a great place to visit with children. Said there was as much excitement outdoors as there was inside. It turns out that site was referring to a store that was owned by another person (same family at the time) but was no longer open. Trust me - if you are looking to entertain children - this is not the place. I found the prices high - nothing exciting about the place. My grandchildren had much more fun at Country Kettle (not that the prices are better - but much more entertaining for the children. So unless you just want some candy - good - but if you are looking to entertain children - go to Country Kettle.

We have lived in the Poconos over 14-years and went to Callie Candy for the first time today. Their chocolate and snacks are definitely good, and the prices are reasonable. What lacked for us - my family of four (that included a toddler and tween) - is that we were not welcomed (in every sense of the word) as we entered the store by the woman behind the counter. I said hello and was ignored - I brushed it off as perhaps she did not hear me and I was wearing a mask so she didn't see my lips moving. The much older woman, whom I'm guessing was the owner was the only person who said a word to us but that occurred only about a few minutes of us being in the store plus she was ringing us up on the register. My husband even mentioned to her this was our first time there, and you'd expect the feedback would be "well welcome, try this chocolate, etc" - but no. Maybe it was an off day for them - you want to give people the benefit of the doubt, right? Wrong! Many Caucasion only customers followed after us and we noticed that she (woman at the counter) immediately greeted them and asked if they needed assistance, quite pleasant, etc. (You get the picture) I paid for our chocolates/snack and we left - obviously never will return. My husband and I joked in the car ride home that we should thank our toddler, because if it wasn't for her we would have been chased out - lol.
Take away from our experience - Chocolate = Good / If a minority = Not Good
It's very sad - but it is the reality of how some Caucasion owned businesses still are.
For reference, we are a Latin/Asian family: ALL LIVES MATTER!

Stopped by this local candy shop over the weekend. They have a very nice selection of homemade chocolate and candy. Definitely has a family run business feel to it. Part of the facility is a candy museum which is clearly dedicated to the man who started the business.
Store offers free samples, good prices and friendly service. Would recommend stopping if your in the area.

You go in the same entrance for both the shop and the museum.
When you enter the shop, go to your left for the museum.
You might see videos of the late great Mr. Callie giving a candy demo.
