We had the pleasure of being served our wine tasting flights by the vineyard’s owner. He patiently spent more than an hour answering our questions about wine production, his land, and his vines. This was a one of a kind glimpse into his business. He has owned Utopia for over twenty years and was a full-time worker in the industry long before that. Opinionated yet kind, his presentation was likely the highlight of our trip.

This was a great place to stop for a tasting. The staff here is very friendly and the wine was good. We even stayed for an additional glass because of the hospitality.

Owners Dan and Kathy built this growing operation from scratch with their own hands. Planting the vines 20 years ago, managing the vines, making the wine, and handling all business functions. The direct hands-on attention shows in the lovely wines. Moderately priced for a premier wine on the Ribbon Ridge, a delight to buy my wine from wonderful, genuine people. My highest recommendation for a fun visit, join the “whole enchilada” club level.

Wonderful experience both with service and thoughtful tasting at the vineyard. Quality was high and large range of selection at very reasonable prices

This is the perfect wind-down-and-relax tasting. Pace yourself. Lots of personal space (hello pandemic) with chill music, bocce ball, and views. This isn't an educational tasting or a hard press sales tasting. This is a feel good tasting. Soak in the views, play some bocce. Dog friendly. Engage as little or as much as you want.

We absolutely LOVE our visits to Utopia!!! The team (who are all part of the Utopian family) greets us with warm smiles at each visit. Dan, the owner/winemaker is almost always there and pours the tastings himself. He is always open to conversation and incredibly knowledgeable about winemaking (he’s been at it for many years). The wines are excellent, reasonably priced and Dan is always trying something new, so there is great variety throughout the year. The outdoor tables and Bocce Ball courts are the perfect place to hang out on a sunny Oregon day. I love how unpretentious this winery is and, of course, the best of the 70’s and 80’s playing inside and outside. We have visited many wineries in the Willamette Valley and this is, DEFINITELY, at the top of our list!

Wine is terrible, service is rude, and the owner is the worst! I would highly recommend to go to any other vineyard other than this one.

This person stayed in my guest cabin on a separate property and left the cabin in a terrible mess. I gave him a negative review on AirBnB and he is using trip advisor to lash out at me for the negative but fair review I posted. I reported this to Trip Advisor and they replied and told me that they were investigating and would get back to me within 48 hours. That was on December 9th and I have never heard from Trip Advisor again and the review is still up. To be clear this person never visited my tasting room or tasted my wines or even met me in person. I think this is evident from the lack of any detail whatsoever in his review and hoped that Trip Advisor would have realized this and removed this review.

My husband and I visited Utopia with friends a couple of weeks ago. Harvest was beginning that day so Dan came over to greet us before he left and Erin took care of our wine tasting. We love dogs and enjoyed meeting Duke, Duchess, and especially Penny (she gave us all a “high five” at the bar)! Thank you for providing such an intimate setting and wonderful wine! We brought home bottles of the 2014 Pinot Noir and the Paradise. Great experience!

Our wine touring group enjoyed meeting and learning about winemaking with Dan! We spent time in his vineyards, tasted beautiful wines and left very impressed with what he is doing. A really terrific visit!

We truly appreciated both the tasting and the education provided by Utopia. Dan - The wine maker - and his daughter - Erin - were phenomenal hosts. The wines - “all the Pinot’s, a great Chardonnay (2015) and their classic “777” were truly remarkable. We also enjoyed the added time spent walking the vineyard with Dan while better appreciating what goes into managing the vines before the wine! An amazing day - and thanks Erin/Dan!
