The sign posts prompt us with questions, However we never did find out how tall that tree was. Great walk among ancient giants.

While we marvel at the sight of these tall trees, do beware of what's on the ground as well. I had a close encounter with either a tiger or white lipped snake just several cm from my feet as I walked along the trail admiring the tall trees. Luckily for me, by the time I realised how close I was with the snake, it slithered away into the forest. Due to this encounter, I spent the second half of the walk paying more attention to the ground rather than the trees towering above me.

The Tall Trees walk itself is a 30 minute, well marked circuit which gives you a good sample of the tall trees of Tasmania’s forests.
It can be accessed from a car park nearby which is about 2km up the park access road from the Visitors centre/campground or as part of a larger circuit walk deviating from Russell Falls.
Good to do either way.

Have done this walk a number of times during different seasons. Always great and to see the 3 Waterfalls is an absolute pleasure

Take a detour off the 3 Falls Circuit along the Tall Trees Walk. Check out the massive Swamp Gums that dominate the forest like beachside skyscrapers. Grab the chance to use the clinometer to calculate the height of these trees.

The Tall Trees walk is about half way around the Lady Barron Falls Circuit, and provides a loop track amongst these neck stretching, stunning pieces of nature

After the Horseshoe Falls follow the track around to Tall Trees Walk. The rainforest is amazing and the moss growing all over the trees is so picturesque and there is so many different fungi throughout. The trees are so big and have been there for hundreds of years. Well worth walking around checking out the trees and you will see pademelons/wallabies along the way grazing throughout the forest.

We did this as part of the longer Russell Falls-Horseshoe Falls-Lady Barron Falls- Tall Trees Walk circuit. This was one of my favourite parts. I really like giant trees and there are plenty to marvel at here.
Fairly easy walk but there are a LOT of stairs on the return journey if you do the whole circuit.

Definitely worth the time it takes to get there but take insect spray - we were eaten alive! I wish the silver gums had a prettier name because they are stunning.

A very enjoyable short walk that was both beautiful and informative. An easy walking trail with information boards along the way to learn a bit about the forest
