Ottimo a tema nautico ieri's Harbour Giorno , con molti per i bambini - eg salire sul RNL imbarcazione , prendere un tragitto di 15 minuti in una barca con il mare gli Scout , a piedi tutto il litorale sabbioso cargo barca chiamato Il Pluto , giro sul motore a vapore in miniatura , controllare alcune imbarcazioni su modello andare in barca stagno , corda - rendendo , fare una bella stampa presso un laboratorio creativo , guarda teatro di strada . . . Per citarne alcuni. . . . Era la recensione precedente allo stesso evento come noi ?

Siamo andati a piedi lungo a Whitstable Porto mercato dal parco di caravn in cui abbiamo alloggiato. Non c'era molto da fare per i bambini. Poche capanne vende oggetti d'arte e nick eccesso, ornamenti, targhe, gioielli, cibo, bevande, ecc. Probabilmente non tornerei con mio figlio, ma sembra perfetto per chi desidera un posto tranquillo anche per gustare un drink e sfoglia l'arte e dipinti.

Love this place , only stayed for a day but I will return , such a lovely harbour and town , really friendly people and many shops to look around

It'd Saturday and the harbour was pretty jam packed, but reasonably able to walk about.

Rip off parking fees!

Beware Rip off parking opposite the harbour. We are pensioners and parked up for 4.5 hours while looking around Whitstable. We were shocked to be charged £14.50 parking fee. We will not be coming back again, and will take our custom elsewhere! This is extortion fees for someone who can't afford rip off fees like this. The. Council should be ashamed!

Quaint harbour

This is a pretty little harbour that is still functional.
There are some eateries and small shops on the quay.
There is also a pay and display car park there.

Look at these pictures. Sadly visitors and beach users left the beach looking like this a lot in July and August this year. The council installed extra bins but these fill up with food and drink purchased in the town and along the sea wall. Ultimately it's the responsibility of those people to find a bin and not pile up takeaway containers, used bbqs, plastic pint pots, wine bottles and so on in the vicinity of a bin when it's full. Beach hut renters also dump their day's drinking and picnics, spent oyster shells on their plastic plates and even neatly tied bags of dog mess just left out for someone else to deal with. Walking through at 8am the following day is pretty miserable. The Augean stables were nothing compared to the task facing council staff today. Witnessing how far society has dropped to actually think it's ok to leave a beautiful place trashed like this is quite depressing. There must be a lot of people who are too stupid, too entitled, too lazy or just too full of weak excuses to say "it's not my fault there's no one to clean up after me". It's not hard to pop back into town where you bought your items and locate a bin. Or if you're really grown up and not useless scum, take it home.

Pretty working harbour

This was such a pretty working harbour, we were luckily there in a sunny day and the colours were fabulous against a blue sky. Had a great time exploring the harbour and the sea front walk past some lovely shacks and restaurants, the beach is stoned and there are safe wooden groynes stretching out giving sheltered areas. Great for a peaceful ramble with family and dog and sooooooo photogenic whichever way you turn. It gets busy and touristy, but get there in the morning to disk up the beauty of the place

Worth a visit any time of the year

Use the big car park just past the harbour (cheaper than the ones in town and on the harbour).
Plenty of shops-in-sheds and photo opportunities. Sad about the Crab and Winkle Restaurant being burnt out - lets hope it will be rebuilt.

Out of season but seen better days

It’s an active working harbour with a variety of outlets where you can buy fresh fish and restaurants. The harbour is now missing it largest wet and shell fish outlet - there was a severe fire that has destroyed the family business.

The are a number of working fishing boats in the harbour which add a good splash of colour and picturesque reflection when the sun is in the right place. It is a real working harbour has a charm.

You have a wide choice of fresh fish restaurants for lunch or dinner.
