Google maps will take you to this temple; motorable by cars. Very nice, peaceful, serene temple to visit. Panditji does very good and long puja, we felt so nice spending time here. Cars can easily reach here, with the last road portion laid in concrete. The remaining 12 km is a mixed bag road, with most of it being readied for relaying and is broad but in stones and mud levelling phase, small portions is pretty bad and cratered. couple of viewpoints are messmerizing on the way. There is a huge tree next to the temple, also a 6 foot snake slithered in front of our car on the way...at the top there is a divergence and only 4 wheel drive vehicles go on the mud road.

Lovely place, surrounded by natural beauty

Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary is located at Mandalpatti which is also the highest point near Madikeri. The 360 degree view from this was breathtaking ! It took us almost 1 hour drive to reach here in special jeeps which could make it here. The road or should I say the lack of it makes the terrain extremely difficult for a normal car to reach here. I would very strongly recommend that one should not even attempt to drive down by self to this point. If anyone has back problem should avoid this trip as the road is very uneven and full of rocks and boulders. Its actually off roading experience, which was thrilling but tough on the back.

As the name suggests, the place is a mountain with lovely plants and flowers. The sanctuary is covered by forest area which has semi-evergreen vegetation and dense evergreen trees. The sanctuary is recognized as for a variety of birds. One can also spot varieties of animals like Indian hare, spotted deer, giant flying squirrel, otters, Indian wild dog, brown palm civet, wild pig, sripe-necked mongoose, sambar, elephants, gaur, mouse deer, etc. Primates like common langur, lion-tailed macaque, and bonnet macaque can also be spotted.

Mesmerising beautiful place

We went there on a rainy day, after visiting Mallali falls, a serine beautiful place surrounded with hills, a paradise for trekkers. You can spend one day here for both the excellent places.

Pushpagiri - Temple and Tranquility

Pushpagiri is easily accessible by road, a 26 Kms drive from Somwarpet and a bit of steep climbs at high RPM's and low gears brings one to the beautiful place called Pushpagiri. The Shiva Temple adds to the divinity of this place. The trek to the Kumara Parvata can be undertaken from here, one can reach Kukke Subramanya at the end of the trail which I presume must be pretty hectic. We visited this fantastic place on 31st July 2016 and had a great time. Do message me if anyone wants any info. And to clarify Mandalpatti is another viewpoint situated about 18 Kms from Madikeri, it's another viewpoint all together.

It is in mandalpatti..couldnt see any animal so much fog was there and the jeep ride was damn uncomfortable although was recommended by resort ppl n driver

4x4 jeep drive used along with children to view this beautiful place. You will not find any animals. You will enjoy a lot by viewing this place.

Breathtaking beautiful views and lots of fun in a jeep to get there. There is a little tower with viewing platform and you can trek around in the hills. The air is so fresh!

Although its name is wildlife sanctuary but you will not find any animals as they all are in their hiding places. We just visited this place to enjoy the ride in 4x4 jeep. The view from the top is just amazing. It has the second highest peak of coorg. Go empty stomach for this ride. nice place to click photographs. Not much to do after reaching top of the mountain. But the jeep ride is worth the money.
