They fields were relaxing and you could sit in these cute chairs in the middle of them and just watch the bees and soak up the smell. There are a ton of homemade products they sell, including soaps, dried lavender, fresh honey, and lavender plants. The employees are all very kind and give great information on lavender care. There are only porta pottys for restrooms, so if you don’t like those you can stop by one of the shops or restaurants nearby. You can’t pick the lavender as it would hurt the ecosystem, especially the bees, but you can buy lavender that was picked fresh at a reasonable price.

So lovely! 💜 Easy to find parking and the crowd light for our ticketed 12:30pm Friday afternoon time slot. Beautiful grounds to stroll along marked paths and immerse yourself in the luscious scents of lavender all around you. Sweet little shop to buy something for yourself, a thoughtful gift or seasonal guest house gift-giving.

Wow! We had no idea this place existed until we did some research before our first visit to North Fork!

It was a hot day, but the fields were gorgeous. They do a real nice job of having walking pathways, creative seating, and some shaded areas. They also sell some of their plans and lavender items.

Would highly recommend - bring your camera!!

The smell is nice and the lavender was in full bloom. I have to be honest, $12 a person which way too overpriced! it is true that that is nothing else to do except taking the photo. By the way, there is no food or eating is allowed in the field. I think the admission fees should be around $5 a person to be fair, and the products' prices are not cheap. I was attracted by the online pictures posted by other people. I have to be honest, some of the pictures look so beautiful, and the light purple shown on the pictures are not real, I believe that those pictures are already being edited by some kind of special effect that is why it looks different from the reality. I went to the field in one of July's afternoons and the weather is way too hot in order to enjoy a walk, so we stayed about 20 minutes and left. so I will suggest that in the summer, people should visit early in the morning or in the evening in order to avoid hot weather.

Ridiculously overpriced, with nothing to do other than take pictures.
Went all the way there from the City, and all the admission fee allows you is to set foot on the fields.
No additional decor, no food anywhere, no tours, no animals, nada. Just walk the fields.
Plus to get in there, there's only ONE narrow lane for BOTH lanes of traffic, coming in and out. They put their Gift Shop smack in the middle of the entrance so you're forced to go through it first before you park, so parking was very hazardous. I almost ran over a man!!!
Gift shop was ridiculously overpriced. $20.00 for a small bar of soap. $25.00 for hand soap. Give me a break.
Well at least I saw it. There is no way in high hell I would go there again. Hate to be so negative but what a ridiculous way to spend your hard earned money for practically nothing other than taking pictures. TOURIST TRAP for sure!

The lavender is in bloom now and you can pick your own for $7.00. Unless you travel to Provence, a place like this is a rarity. The fields are so beautiful and the aroma of lavender fills the air.
You also have the lavender store where you can buy lavender sugar, lavender salt, lavender baked goods, lavender soaps and creams, sachets etc . Lavender honey is available at the end of July.
If you plan to stay overnight on the North Fork, The Blue Inn is next to the Lavender fields . You can smell the aroma as you leave your room. Breakfast is served outside and you can sit overlooking the lavender fields. In addition ,all is 5 minutes away from Greenport.

Lavender By the Bay is perhaps a bit off the beaten path for a quick visit, however, it is a great day trip. I love lavender and never realized that there was a field literally almost in my back yard. I visit my daughter in New York all the time but not the right time for lavender but this last visit, the timing was perfect. The lavender (can't remember if it was French or English or both) was in full bloom. I could not have asked for a more beautiful day nor a more beautiful experience. The fields were a sea of purple; the company had placed chairs in strategic places to capture some beautiful pictures! The little store had a great assortment of lavender products. A truly wonderful day!

We visited Lavender by the bay as a family. It was very pretty but a little expensive on the entry fee. The shop could be a little larger or have better flow. When we went the lavender fields were fine to walk around but the shop was far to crowded and overwhelming

I have been purchasing Lavender Honey for my daughter for years (ever since they opened.) She and her family love it and it is very Good for their allergies as they are originally from Greenport, I used to think people were crazy when they would say" I take a teaspoon of Lavender Honey for my allergies everyday during allergy season and I never have a problem." But since trying it myself I am now a firm believer. My daughter now lives in Knoxville, TN. and still asks me to send her Lavender Honey every year. They used to take your name down when you went and ordered it and put it aside for you so that you could pick it up, They no longer do that. So I have to get up early on Sat. or Sunday morning before church and go to East Marion (fighting the traffic and tourists) to get it before it sells out. This year I have an in. One of my friends daughter's works at Lavender By The Bay, so she will call me and tell me when it is ready for sale. Maybe I will be able to get to the farm during the week, or have my husband pick it up for me. I am thinking about trying it myself this year for my allergies, but first I will have to see how bad the allergies are because the Lavender Honey is very expensive. As a matter of fact everything they sell is very expensive. I would like to save it for them for a Christmas present, but because of their allergies I can not do that. I know a lot of the local people would prefer to see the store moved into Greenport Village to avoid all the traffic jams. Maybe one day The Lavender By The Bay will consider renting a small store in town for their busiest season. I do think this would settle a lot of the quarrels by the locals, the restaurant owners, The Golf Course, etc. I will still be making my two annual trips down to the farm to buy the Honey and to just stand out in the field and take pictures. It is beautiful. Good Luck to the owners and the workers of the farm to be able to get to work on time. They must all take their lunch with them, because they could never get out of there and into Greenport and back to the farm within an hour. Then again maybe one of the workers takes their lunch orders and does a take out from one of the local restaurants, such as Hellenic or Skippers (or whatever the new name of it is going to be.) I know if I worked there I would find one of the Local Wineries near there and drink a glass of wine with my lunch like the Europeans do before going back to work. I really do hope something can be worked out between "Lavender By the Bay" and the local merchants and people before there is some real trouble. The local people can be very nasty and stop going to the Lavender By the Bay Farm, and also cause a lot of trouble for the merchants there. Hope it will not come to that this year. As a matter of fact I hope it never comes to that (at least while I am still alive and live out east. ) We already have enough problems fom the Westerner's.

I was staying at the Blue Inn, which is right next door and you can. Literally smell the lavender scent all day. It's a nice, light scent. When you enter the lavender field property there is a rocky driveway, so if you are wheelchair/stroller accessible, drive all the way into their parking lot for better movement. However, you can not bring a stroller or wheelchair onto the lavender fields as the aisles are not wide enough and there are hoards of bees that cluster around the lavenders and they may get startled. You pay $8 at the entrance of the field, but keep your receipt bc you can use it as credit in the gift shop. There's a pavilion in the middle of the field where you can sit under the shaded rooftop. It can get very hot depending on what time you go. The gift shop had various lavender products such as dried bouquets, sachets, soaps, etc but not all products are made on the grounds. Overall it is worth the visit. It gives you a little taste of Provence, France.
