Luci da non credere della bellezza.
Qui è nata la vera città.
Come in tutte le metropoli fare attenzione, anche personaggi strani.

Si trova nella parte nord della città ed inizia all'altezza dell'incrocio di Glitter Gulch. Non aspettativi un centro storico come quelli a cui siamo abituati. Qui nella Downtown, si respira la vera vita locale. E' un'area tranquilla, anche se nelle vie secondarie, si ha un po' paura a camminare, per via di una serie di tipi non raccomandabili che stazionano in zona. Qui risiedono ancora i primi casinò e gli alberghi storici. Tutto il nucleo originario è stato fortemente riqualificato negli ultimi anni, da Fremont Street fino alle zone più periferiche e ci sono spesso concerti gratuiti e altri intrattenimenti, proprio per far si che che la zona, sia un attrazione turistica e non venga trascurata..

Sosta a Las Vegas di un giorno durante la percorrenza della Route66 in Harley Davidson, eravamo un gruppo e così abbiamo deciso di visitare la Strip e gli hotel che la occupano maestosamente! Avevamo l'hotel, il Godden Nugget, lì vicino, così abbiamo fatto una deviazione verso questa parte vecchia di Las Vegas, sotto la Fremont Street, piena di luci, hotel, casinò, e sopratutto personaggi più o meno vestiti che attirano i turisti per fare le foto insieme, o per vendere qualcosa. Da vedere!

Si rimane colpiti dalle luci, tutti alberghi casino' dove poter entrare liberamente anche per curiosare, tutto aperto h 24, un grande impatto visivo.

Si tratta della vecchia Las Vegas, quella dei primi casino.
Il centro di downtown è Fremont Street, caotica e sporca, da vedere soltanto fugacemente

Personalmente ho trovato Fremont Street sporca e decadente, forse perché ho avuto una disavventura con una tassista del luogo (che si è incavolata perché non le andava bene la tips che le avevo dato), Secondo il mio punto di vista ci sono posti migliori a Las Vegas

Non vuole essere certamente di serie B la periferia chiamata Downtown di Las Vegas.
Molto, molto bella. Sembra forse solo un po meno caotica ma i divertimenti non mancano neppure qui.
Mi è piaciuto passeggiare lungo la Downtown sotto dei fili che fanno schizzare dei superman lungo tutta la via. Difficile più a spiegarlo rispetto a quello che è.
Locali non mancano, solo troppa gente sballata, ubriachi o drogati che dormivano lungo la via, adiacente ai locali chiusi. Li ho visti dopo le due di notte, fare quindi attenzione.
Molto, molto bella. Sembra forse solo un po meno caotica ma i divertimenti non mancano neppure qui.
Mi è piaciuto passeggiare lungo la Downtown sotto dei fili che fanno schizzare dei superman lungo tutta la via. Difficile più a spiegarlo rispetto a quello che è.

La vera Las Vegas, respirerete un’aria pazzesca, totalmente opposta alla famosa “Strip”. Qui nasce Las Vegas, all’interno del Binion’s potrete fare una fotografia con un milione di dollari veri, a due passi potrete visitare il museo della “mafia” ed ogni ora alzando gli occhi, gustare uno show di luci e musica stupendo.... queste sono solo poche cose di quelle che vi aspetteranno alla Downtown..... IMMANCAMIBILE

Abbiamo deciso di andare a Las Vegas in vacanza per far visita a mio figlio Siamo stati in downtown Veramente bella!!Molto suggestiva e caratteristica piena di luci e colori e meglio sicuramente della’nuova’città!Ci si diverte per strada,meno elegante e con personaggi stravaganti che la animano!!!Assolutamente da vedere soprattutto di sera...

To any all of you that are coming to Las Vegas. You have to pay for parking both on the strip and downtown. Once you check into your hotel on the strip or downtown. it's better that you call for a car service to come and get you to take you to where you wish to go. Make sure that you check with your hotel to see if you get a price break for parking your car at the hotel that you are staying in. You will be doing a lot of walking on the strip , stay safe , have fun, drink lots of water , WELCOME TO LAS VEGAS. !

My wife and I are going to Vegas in March - this will be our first time - do you have any tips about where we can save money i.e train tickets bus tickets etc. we are 69 and 65 so we do want to have a good time but we want to spend money on nice meals etc. Also is it better for us to book a show when we arrive in Vegas or book direct with Caesars Palace on line? Any good tips you can give us will be greatly appreciated.

I am always on the look out for great deals, and the one's we found were mostly on GROUPON. The HINT here is, LOG ON or into GROUPON, set Las Vegas as your home city and then refresh the page so local deals are listed, and KaPoW! The best prices on the Best of entertainment and Food establishments are listed for you to pick from. This should be done months in advance to your trip as the deals change, discounts deepen as time passes, HINT if you like something click on it and hit Buy it, get to the summery page and then log in Discount or Promo codes, if you still do not like the price, Back Out of the page and log out, it cost nothing and in the days to follow GROUPON will send you emails asking if you are still interested in the item and offer a further discount at times! A lot of items we clicked on and checked out we save those GROUPON EMAILS and when a 20% or 30% off sale runs, I pull out the emails on the items I was watching and see it the code applies to the items I want, if and when it does, you can receive 30% of an already 50%-80% off reduced item! Now that’s Vacation planning at it’s best right there! The tours we took, the restaurants we ate at every second day were All GROUPON PURCHASES I researched before we ever got there, making sure they we accessible to our location without to much cost(Most of ours we selected to buy were in walking distance f our hotel or a short ride on the Deuce and short walk, and we ended up making mini day trips out of them, finding our hidden gems! It was a great way to enjoy the best Las Vegas had to offer, and not pay retail for most of it! As far a concert tickets, I bought on Holiday sales prior to Leaving to plan the times and locations for the Anchor Events, IE JayLo and Maria Carey Concerts were my wife’s Dream Concerts so I booked them inside our travel dates evenly spaced out during our time. Black Friday Specials through Ticket Master was where I bought both sets of tickets & over 2 months in advance. Both were sale prices, saving on average of $100.00 a set each purchase. Search tickets out on the internet, as the tickets are sold by multiple dealers as Caesar’s sell tickets to VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Ticket Master etc. And they each run sales at times, checking around paid off for us as we saw 4 concerts, went on three tours including the Grand canyon, Pawn Stars, Counts Customs, TANKED, Ricki’s Restorations, had lots of money to enjoy a day at Las Vegas Speedway driving a Lambo, F1 Porsche and an AUDI R8 also a GROUPON Purchase! I can confidently say we saved over $2,000.00 off Retail Tourist prices on our 2 weeks we spent there, for sure! Glad to help, have a great trip!

You can get coupons online for the shops, but sometimes it worth going into the shops to see what discount they are offering. Some say text this number to get a code, I did this and never got a reply but show the cashier that I had text to get the discount. Other coupons are available on the strip as advised by other replies. Have a great holiday

I am going to be traveling alone to Vegas and staying at the American Grand downtown. I have only ever staying along the strip (and with other people) and was wondering if those that have been there would consider this a safe area to walk around Freemont, container garden, mob museum etc. by myself. I am not unaware of the "characters" that frequent vegas and am a 39 year-old confident/smart traveler. I just wanted to get your thoughts and also recommendations of things to do and see when I am there.

I too would consider myself a smart confident traveler. I have stayed both on the strip and downtown.
I would be most "aware" during the walk between Freemont and the downtown grand. It's only about 2 blocks but not many tourists. That's not to say it's not safe... I'd just say don't let your guard down there.
The container Park area has great promise but when I was there last it was more a kids playground than anything else with a food court... Great concept that needs some tweaking.
I highly recommend the neon museum, and nightlife at The golden nugget. If you gamble there are some great options downtown.
Main Street Station has a nice microbrewery, excellent food options at the nugget (and a starbucks) and the open air shows on Freemont are heating up very soon.
There is an art walk area that I've always wanted to do near downtown a few blocks South...

Fremont street is a great place to gamble, there are so many to choose from and do not buy drinks, once seated either at the machines or tables a waitress will bring you whatever you ask for as far as drinks are concerned, just give her a couple of dollars each time, far cheaper than buying and one last thing, visit at night for the overhead light show and February will not be too busy, enjoy yourselves in Fremont street then enjoy the strip.
