We visit this park quite frequently and really like it. We have stayed in the “R” section as well as first come, first served spots. The spots in the “R” section do “not “ have shade, but there are many shady spots in the park. There are spots right on the river. If I had anything to notify anyone about is “the beach”. It’s not a beach. It basically just a grassy area. Any sand is mixed in with grass. But if you want to visit a beach it isn’t far away. There is a great playground if you have smaller children as well as a splash pad. They also have a very nice rental pavilion. It is not far from Waveland and Bay St. Louis, so shopping and Casinos are not far. I highly recommend giving this park a visit.

We have enjoyed staying in the new section the week of thanksgiving. It was really quit. The only complaint is that children with no license not even old enough to have a license and no adult present driving golf carts around. The office was closed Thursday and Friday. There is no one patrolling the park for safety and to enforce the rules. There was no one at the park to even empty the trash we had to take it to the dumpster ourselves. If the park is open then someone should be present if something was to happen.

Loud, absolutely no oversight. If you have an issue after 5pm you are on your own. Loud music from campers and golf carts racing around the park until 3am. The second night there is an ongoing party with 100 plus people. We have called the sherrifs office but no one has shown up yet. If you're a drunken a$$hole this is the place for you, if you want any kind of quit and relaxation look elsewhere.

Set on the edge of the Stennis Space Center's exclusion zone, this small state park has a 1.25 mile nature trail in addition to playgrounds and camping facilities. The park sits in about the middle of the Jourdan River Blueway -- an 8.5 mile canoe/kayak "trail" through coastal floodplains and a river ecological system.
Our visit was a quite Saturday afternoon stroll through the short nature trail -- plenty of bird, pretty views, and fresh air.
There's a $2 entry fee, but that nothing for such a great day!

This is a nice campground but has one big problem....stray cats !! I come back from a walk and they are on my table, one one my closed stove..cats on my rug and under my camper. 9 cats I counted.As fast as I chase them off, come back outside and their everywhere. I called the office twice about the problem but nothing. I was told one of the guys who works here feeds them. What the h***was he thinking ! I won't be back

love going to mcleod , found this place and love it , been twice already and plan on going back ASAP , no kids they are grown , so we stay on the water , (there is gators in the water) so no swimming in it , it goes into the Jordan river, and my husband can fish , its busy and booked more on weekends but open more during week, there is an airport near by , so planes go over during day, but doesn't bother to much, but if you have a baby it may interfere with nap time, but they stop flying over for the night. Fishing is better if you go out in a boat, but can catch, off the shore in certain spots , and time of day. Also is not HUGE so I like it smallness , and can ride my bike all around. love having cement slabs at most sites and a trash barrel at every site. also there is a restaurant down the road called DOCKSIDE with great food and will deliver to you at the park, Great roast beef, shrimp poboys, cajun fries and GREAT shakes, loved the icebox pie one !! And great snowballs!!

This is a relatively small state park along the Jordan River. There are several well-marked nature trails for interesting hikes. There are covered picnic areas that can be reserved for large groups as well as scattered grills and picnic tables for families. The campsites are always occupied, but are spread through the park so you don't feel crowded. There is also an extensive playground for children that includes water sprinklers. We have gone several times to drive through, take a nature walk or let the grandchildren play. We're never been asked ro pay a fee. Enjoy!!

Enjoy a walk on the nature trail! Go fishing! Lay out and relax! Or how about a family get together! It has a pavilion for that and a playground with a splash pad for the kids to stay busy for hours!!! Get back to nature here!!!

there are little children running around everywhere yet there are GATORS in the water. The children are going to get hurt. Really wish someone would watch them

The park needs to open at 6am,so fishermen can pay their entrance fees and get on the water an hour earlier,also you should have a senior citizen entree fee of 2 dollars or free entree just to fish🤷🏻♂️👍
