This is a great way to enjoy sea life and the archipelago with a stopover at the big cranberry Island for an hour or so, walk around, visit the restaurant have a drink or just relax.

This was a great excursion to the cranberry Islands. They were very welcoming of the dogs, and we took five. Everyone was very friendly. The boat captain gave many family members, lots of information about the islands in the sea. I would highly recommend them if you are in the area.

We went the last week of May before the crowds came. Captain Joe was friendly and happily answered questions. We went to both Big and Little Cranberry Islands, and got to see the island kids be picked up after school at Little to be delivered back to Big. Great harbor views. Also enjoyed walking around both islands just to get a glimpse of island life. Stopped at the Post Office on Little to buy stamps from Post Master Joy....who is a JOY!!! Overall, we had a great experience!

This was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip to Acadia for me. The mailboat was amazing! They effortlessly loaded up our 4 bikes, up & down at each island stop. The islands were beautiful (and far away from the crowds of Acadia). We easily rode the lengths of the islands on our bikes. But, the best part was the actual mailboat. It felt authentic & real. We shared rides with contractors, island resident shoppers and MANY amazon packages! It was great! We also got to watch some lobstermen bringing in their haul at the the end of a day at sea. We happened to be on the Isles the day after a tornado came through leaving them with downed trees & no electricity. We saw neighbors banding together to help each other out. A must go!

Great ferry to explore the cranberry islands. Can get on and off at each island and back to Northeast Harbor with same round trip pass. Company recommends getting there 15 minutes ahead of time as there are not reservations and the boat maxes at around 34 people, but I would go at least 30 minutes when leaving Northeast as it was full about 10 min prior to departure and people had to be turned away. At the other stops on the islands the ferry was not crowded so no issues with getting seats.

For Islesford (little cranberry island) definitely check out the small but nicely done historical museum!

Took Beal & Bunker ferry to both Little Cranberry, then over to Great Cranberry. Family-run operation with great service, staffed by island locals. Bikes were loaded up on the roof. When we inquired about food availability on Great Cranberry (late afternoon), one of the guys onboard texted a cafe owner to see if they would still be open by the time we arrived. A perfect way to spend a day sightseeing on both islands.

Perfect little ferry to get you to Cranberry island. Not a tour boat, and appears to be used mainly for locals. No “sightseeing” and seating is limited. We had a great experience though and perfect for you to get to point a to b.

What a fun thing to do. We took the mail boat to two islands, Great Cranberry and Little Cranberry, We walked around each, saw some great scenery, met some amazing people. You must go into the little post office on Little Cranberry (also called Islesford). The postmaster (Joy) is a stitch. She will sell you Gingerbread and stamps whether you need them or not. An experience not to be missed. On Great Cranberry there is a golf cart shuttle that will take you to the end of the only road telling you about the island. No fee but a contribution to their historical society is nice.

I always take the mail boat to Islesford - you meet locals and experience Maine in an authentic way. And the price can't be beat
