Asian Lanterns are worth visiting

Went during the Asian lantern festival. Amazing set ups and perfectly done. The zoo is great, saw many animals and birds. Water splash area has lots of comfortable chairs to sit in.

Great for toddlers

Excellent spot near Orlando. Reasonable pricing, 7 of us went for the price of one ticket at one of the big parks. Offers a nice mixture of animals and a splash pad which makes it ideal for toddlers. We took our 2 year old grand son and it was perfect. He fed goats, giraffes, and chickens then enjoyed the splash pad. The park is well laid out. Allow a couple hours.

Very nice Zoo

We liked the Zoo, the animals seemed happy, enclosures were clean and large. Staff was friendly and the boardwalks are great. We are passholders at the Brevard Zoo and got in for 1/2 price. Trying to visit all the Florida Zoo's

Animals + Splash Pad = Fun

We were staying at Wekiwa Springs which was crazy busy on the weekend. We decided to take the young kids to this Zoo. We absolutely loved it. We were there at open and walked around the exhibits which were beautiful. We really enjoyed just walking on the boardwalks which was shady and perfect for our 1 year old to walk/run while staying contained and on a path. Then when it got hotter we went to the splash pad which was a huge hit with the kids. If you are in the area I definitely recommend this Zoo. We had a great time.

Go for the water area for the kids

This was our second visit. We went previously about two (2) years ago. This is a smaller zoo. Some of the previous review are correct - there are a handful of exhibits that have signs stating that they are not occupied. Still, we bought an annual pass so that we can bring our grandson whenever we would like. He really enjoyed seeing the animals that were there, but he truly loved the splash area. The food here is better than ANY food at any other theme park, hands down! Never would have guessed.

Sam assisted us with purchasing our annual pass and she was fantastic! She took in what we said and found the best option for us so that we would get the most for our money. We hope that they recognize her for her hard work.

Animals in very small enclosures with no stimulation. It made me quite sad and I can stop pitying those animals. Giraffe had nothing but sticks in his feeder. If they own as much land as the claim. Expand the enclosures and not CAGES. Depressing.

NOT a Botanical Garden

We were attracted to this place by the "Botanical Gardens" part of the title. This is grossly misleading. It is a zoo and nothing but a zoo. It is in a native vegetation setting and there a few plants that have been added. Some of them even have names. But to call it a Botanical Garden is simply a lie.

The zoo part was OK and most of the animal enclosures seemed fairly adequate. Don't miss insects in the Discovery Center. It is before the entry gate so you can go in for free. Save your money unless you really want to see a zoo.

Have they never seen a real zoo

Used Teacher ID for admission to get discount for two seniors, two adults, and three small children and it was still well over $100. This is a very sad excuse for a zoo. I don't know what they are doing with the money from admissions, but it sure isn't going into the zoo. There are several promises of animals, but the empty cages have signs saying "Temporarily off the exhibit". One local visitor told us the signs are mostly permanent. The animals that are there are in small enclosures and just looked depressed. The grounds are in disrepair and none of the employees talk much or seem excited to be there. In the "petting" area our 5 year old stepped up on a wooden fence to see a goat and an employee yelled at him to get off the fence. There is no way a child could possibly "pet" any animal due to the three foot fence. This zoo is not worth the price of admission. There is a playground in the middle of it and that is where the majority of the customers mingle with their children....pretty expensive playground! Spend ten days in Florida and this was by far the worst thing we spent money on.

A Quiet Zoo Day

The zoo was good, but not too many animals to see. We fed the giraffes and that was fun! There were young people there to ask questions to, but it would have been nice for them to give us more info, without asking them questions first.

Not really a zoo.

For the price, not worth it, go to Wild Florida or Brevard zoo instead. Not many animals, not a real petting zoo, not any demos or shows. Grounds aren't up kept trash thrown around. The only plus is lots of shade.
