A small park by stop 14 on the trolley tour. There's a couple of statues & a gazebo. There's also lots of homeless people sleeping on benches. I cruised the edges to get a shot of the Ponce de Leon statue on the East end of the park.
The best thing you can say about it is it's green & shady.

This is a rectangular "park" located near the Lion bridge and right in front of the Catholic Cathedral. It's shady and there are a few benches to sit on, a few small monuments her and there and a gazebo. It is surrounded by several tourist sights but there's not a lot to do in the plaza itself.

Beautiful area to mellow and appreciate St. Augustine without the crowds. It's well conceived to provide both natural beauty from old trees and flower patches, historic teachings from descriptive statues and military relics, and views of important architectural monuments nearby. It was exactly what we needed after fighting the crowds at el Castillo de San Marcos and on St. George street.

Lugar de encuentro de la ciudad, iluminada con las luces de Navidad es aún más especial. Es parte del recorrido del casco antiguo de la ciudad, por lo que no se la pueden perder

Twice i've been able to enjoy sitting in the park under the white lights during the festival. Great for people watching.

It's a nice green square in the center of the old town. Unfortunately a bit congested with foot traffic and car traffic. So one rushes through it, too bad since it is simple and sweet.

This is a really pretty park.. love the historic plaques and info here. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy this being here in the oldest town in America, and rest after walking all thru town..

Der älteste öffentliche Platz in Amerika wurde von den Spaniern erbaut. In der Mitte des Platzes steht ein Obelisk um die spanische Verfassung zu ehren.
Das war es aber dann auch schon. Er ist nicht besonders schön anzusehen. Kurz die Aviles Street begutachten & dann die Saint George Street Richtung Castillo de San Marcos nehmen.
Einen wirklichen Grund an diesen Platz länger zu verweilen gibt es nicht.

Laid down in 1572, this is the oldest public place in America. Weird collection of Confederate monument, bronze footsteps of civil rights activist Andrew Young when he got pummeled in 1964, and a small gazebo. Near a lot of the sites.
