Hidden gem small family winery inland from Pismo Beach. Had a great tasting experience in a picturesque setting. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite new find for quality central coast wines.

We have visited Alsace, and it is my favorite wine region. When we discovered Claiborne & Churchill, it was a find! True to the Alsatian style and varieties. Their non-Alsatian varietals (Chard, Pinot Noir, maybe a Syrah?), I'm just not interested in. They are my go-to for Alsatian white varietals (predominantly dry Riesling and Gewurztraminer.) Eileen has always been fantastic; she even helped out our nephew (randomly) when he had troubles at the SLO airport ... long story, but a person that went above, above and beyond. Whole staff has been superb, Elizabeth in renting the cottage. It is our go-to winery in Edna Valley.

This was our second visit to Claiborne and Churchill. The winery is beautiful, and the patio is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a tasting, a glass of wine or buy a bottle or two.
We decided to buy a bottle and Mr. B and I each enjoyed a glass, took the rest with us to enjoy with dinner in the evening.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They know the wines well and give great recommendations.
This visit we purchased a bottle of Syrah, from Edna Valley. It was light, but rich in flavor. Perfect for an afternoon that was breezy and a bit chilly. We sat for a while just soaking in the views and the wine. Definitely worth a visit. Thanks so Shawn for the great recommendation on wine, and the great service.

We made an online reservation for this winery and we’re excited to try the wines. We had to pick up an allocation at another winery and we’re hoping to find another great place to get wine. First off I want to say the service was great! The lady serving us was very attentive and nice.
The winery has lots of free parking. We parked right outside the hostess station. The decoration was an old tired western. We were seated safely away from others but were sat on two stools and a wine cask. It was not comfortable.
The wine was brought out at a good pace but I did not have one that I enjoyed. My husband also was disappointed in the wine. I can not recommend this winery.
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the good service.

Nice property. Reserve on line. Lovely, separated seating areas. Tara was great. Really like the wines. Different from others in the Edna Valley - they are Alsacian style. To get a good Gewurtztraminer is not easy - and theirs was super. Only comment is to avoid the table area near the 101 as it gets a little noisy. Popular late in the afternoon.

I do enjoy their wine, I am a member of their wine club and did have a number of billing and shipment issues. I thought I'd go down and pick up my final shipment as they changed my membership level and get a taste of the wines as well. I didn't catch the person's name however she asked if I was a member to which I said yes and I advised I had revised my membership but wanted to pick up the wine that was under my past membership. She looked me up waited for a minute to decipher the notes and said No there is no wine for you here. I tried to explain but she cut me off saying no you do not have any waiting. Ok well, how about just doing a tasting and maybe I will purchase some product. I was watching the other staffers pouring samples very generous and normally they are. The amount she poured was about as much as you would get in a communion cup. As we were sampling our "sips" of wine one of the other girls came up to me and said Hi as she knew who I was and said it was nice to see me, why didn't I get her to pour the wine. As much as I hate to say it as I do like the winery and wine is this girl did everything she could to make me not want to purchase anything. We all have good and bad days, but I've been running an unlucky streak with C&C. It's sad I was ready to drop a couple of hundred bucks and the clerk did a great job at making me close my pocketbook. there are lots of wineries on the central coast pick and choose who you are comfortable with.

My wife and I visited this winery with 101 Wine Tours and could not have been happier with the surprising selection of wines and the friendly staff. Margaret was our host and she was wonderful to talk with. She gave us a lot of history on the winery and other wineries in the area. The meat and cheese small plate that came with the tasting was a wonderful touch.

We recently had a wonderful afternoon at this winery. We were a group of 30 for the wine tasting and we were all seated outside with Michelle pouring and giving very articulate descriptions of the wines as well as the winery and surrounding area. We stayed there for a picnic catered by an outside company. The staff could not have been more helpful with various details for our picnic.
The wine was very good . The proof of this is that pretty much everybody bought some!

Stopped in for a tasting and ended up buying some of their wines. Eileen is really a wonderful hostess. Our friends have be members for a number of years and love this wine. They make excellent wines and their dry riesling is very unusual. Nice ambiance also.

We have received numerous recommendation to try this winery in the past few years and we recently dropped by. We were a little curious at first about the wine selection, however we were very impressed with quality and variety of the wines. Little different selection then you will find at most wineries in the area, but all were very good to excellent, even took a few bottles home.
