“Nice terminal; would be nicer if facilities were actually opened”

Questa è la terza volta che una nave da crociera sono sul ha fermati al porto di crociera di Tianjin. Il terminal è abbastanza nuovo, di circa 3 anni. Mentre è grande e piuttosto bella e completamente rifornito negozi (minimarket, un ufficio postale, negozio di souvenir, beauty merci store) sono chiusi e bloccati. E non c'è niente altro qui intorno per 20 o miglia.

Eccellente impianto portuale. difficile cambiare i soldi perché non c'è abbastanza posti a farlo. solo due cabine aperto e uno sportello bancomat. grandi linee. facile in e out ma inglese segnaletica non è fino a par. il porto ha una bella architettura e design potrebbe essere utile per visitare solo per fare il check-out.

クルーズ船用のターミナル

天津のクルーズターミナルです。
MSCスプレンディダで到着しました。
天津市街へはここからタクシーで地下鉄9号線終電東海路駅に行くか、直接タクシーで市内に行くかです。東海路駅まではメーターで30元、市内までは100元程度ですが、クルーズターミナルにいるタクシーはメーターを拒否します。東海路までは350元で交渉開始し、100元で乗りました。市内中心部へも350元を提示されました。メーターを倒さないため、カードは拒否されます。それでも船や、旅行会社のバスよりは安い値段です。ターミナルには何もありません。両替所はありました。入国はスムーズです。

Actually it was rather good!

Having done research at home and hearing that it's a total chaotic embarkation, it was absolutely fine.
We were getting on quantum of the seas with royal Caribbean. Last day of golden week. Be careful travelling into china during this time, a lot of brits got caught up in the change of 144 hr visa restrictions on arrival at Beijing airport.
It's 2.5 hours drive from Beijing. It was all well organised and as long as you followed the instructions, all easy. We were on board with an hour of arriving.
Any ladies not familiar with the conveniences in China, pic below. I'd done loads of research before our Asia adventure trip and had no idea!
The terminal is spotless clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful.

It’s big and convenient

Don’t make the most common mistake and think the cruise terminal is close to Beijing , it’s not. The major city is Tianjin and if you are flying international your airport is Tianjin not Beijing. It has flight from AUS and US as well as Europe. It’s a. Beautiful terminal but don’t expect conveniences of popping outside for Starbucks or kfc, there is a snack bar inside and a noodle bar. Your deep in China so English is not the first language so be patient and be ready, don’t whine that they don’t understand you their market is not westerners it’s Chinese so go with the flow and if your not careful you might learn something. Ge5 your own transport organised to get back to the airport or hotel and again Tianjin is the place to fly into and stay at a hotel. If your coming from Beijing then maybe come the night before. One more thing, there will be lines and some pushing, be ready, your in somebody else’s country, Chinese are not rude they have their own culture and we are guests.

Free trade zone
Enorme cruiseterminal, veel ruimte voor bussen en busjes. Bijna allemaal
met een doel: Beijing.
Springplank voor excursies Beijing wat zo’n drie uur bussen verder ligt.
Onderweg veel, heel veel lege appartemententorens in the middle of nowhere
als voorbereiding op de gigantische expansieverwachtingen in dit gebied.
Over kwaliteit van wonen hebben we het dan al lang niet meer.

Getting to Beijing

We are visiting China as part of the Celebrity Cruise itinerary and needed to get to Beijing city. We decided on a taxi from the cruise terminal to Tiānjīn rail station and then a bullet train to Beijing South. You will be greeted at the terminal by a bunch of very eager taxi drivers. One quoted RMB600 and another RMB360 to get to the Tiānjīn station, no brainer right ? Wrong ! Turns out the RMB360 cabby took us on a 20 minute drive to a closer station where we had to get the local train to Tiānjīn Station, it only cost RMB 9 each though so from a cost perspective we won. So just be careful that you know what you’re getting. We then had a 60 min trip to Tiānjīn station, bought some tickets to Beijing South on the bullet train which cost RMB 54 each. It’s a wonderful 20 minute trip at 347 kmph ! To Beijing South Station and then a Taxi ride to the hotel. It’s all relatively easy, staff are very helpful. Use Google translate app, it’s a big help !

Big and Nothing There - Totally Dead

We came in on a Sunday and it was a ghost town except for the security & customs officers. They we quite slow in processing visas. The whole area around the cruise port for miles is either planned for the future or for show what few buildinsg there are. The "new" buildings in the whole are for miles all looked vacant.

BOTTOM LINE: Very disappointing cruise port. One of the worst I have ever gone to. You cannot walk out of the port and go anywhere around here for miles.You have to either take a ship excursion or buss to a mall. Princess Cruises did provided buses to go to the AEON mall. That took 30 MINUTES to drive thru a non-existent city with out any traffic! The mall was a total waste of time for travelers except for a supermarket to restock on snacks. The rest of the ship went off to Beijing to see the The Great. We have seen the Wall multiple times before, but should have gone to see it again. One day this might be a nice area buy not today (especially on a Sunday) MY RATING: 2/10.

SUGGESTION: Find a ship excursion to take before you get to the port or just stay onboard the ship.

Tianjin is the cruise port for Beijing, however, it is hours away from Beijing. Strongly advise to pre-book an independent tour before arrival. The highway from Tianjin to Beijing is busy & can be problematic for traffic accident, so allow plenty of time.

Chinese officials did an excellent job, this port is very nice.

My wife and I got off the Ovation and despite thousands of people, my gratitude goes to the wonderful people of China working there. Excellent port, clean and efficient ..Very easy to find tour buses. Don't forget to get a Chinese Visa, even if only staying one day..it is well worth it.

Prepare for chaos

We were waiting in line to board our cruise ship . The line is so packed and jammed with people that someone is going to get hurt . The elderly are subjected to this horrendous packed line of people . Parents are forced to hold their children in their arms to keep them safe. There are many ways this problem could be solved . Any large amusement park has just as many people waiting at times but without the pushing and overcrowding.

The architecture of the port building looks like a cruise shop. It is very clean and it a short ride to the Aeon Mall.
