That's where Aimyon's marigolds were shot. I'm free even on Sunday. Where did your Chinese Guide take you to Shanghai? I answered here, but the Guide did not know. It must be a minor place. I went in August 2024.
Here are directions by subway and bus. I only searched for the way to get there and back, which was pretty old. Much had changed.
First, take Metro Line 1 to a station called Linhua Road. After exiting the ticket gate (2nd floor), go straight into the Shopping mall and take the escalator down to the first floor and out of the mall to get to the first bus terminal. The destination was Beisong Highway 覽婢站. It seems this is important. Chedun, apparently. I'm not sure which bus I'm going to take, but it's OK if it's a destination bus called Forty-Five Li Jin Ximen. I wrote down on my notepad that I was going to get the job done, showed it to the driver, and was told it was OK. If you sit in the middle of the bus (in front of the rear door), you will see a destination sign at the top. Besides the driver, there was a woman on board who collected the fare, and when the bus started, she came to collect the fare. I paid with Alipay. I think it was about 5 yuan. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the bus stop in Hideno by taking a highway-like road. The front of the bus showed the following stops: The attendant's aunt kindly informed me. Once you get off the train, continue walking about 300-400m in the direction of travel. The site I researched listed turning right at the intersection, going back in the opposite direction, but this would arrive at the entrance for staff. Probably the old entrance. Get off the bus and walk straight. Am I allowed to walk here on a wide road without sidewalks? I walk along a roadway like this. This is a roadway for motorcycles, so I'm going to buzz by. Where do you think it's going? I walk around thinking, "What are you doing?", but suddenly I see the entrance at the road crossing. There is no crosswalk, so I crossed the street at the right time. The return bus stop, as shown on the map, seems to be on the opposite side of the intersection, possibly going back in the opposite direction.
By the way, if you can use Alipay, you can call a taxi, it will come soon. It was hot, so we took a taxi on the way home. At this time, the last four digits of your mobile number will be your driver and confirmation number. If it is 090-1234-5678, then it is 5678. On the way back, it was about 2000-3000 Japanese yen from here to Tagobo. Maybe a taxi on the way or back.

It was sooooooo far away for us to go from Pudong but we tried and succeeded. 1.5 hours on metro and another half hour bus ride. We also found out that we had to stop at Zuibaichi metro station Line 9 ( NOT at Songjiang Xincheng - because the bus there is no more working the route). So we stopped at Zuibaichi metro station and took Bus No. 6. Stopped at Beisong Highway at Chedunzhen. The film park is another 5 min walk to the front on your right.
Entrance fee was 80 Yuan. Huge park. Highlight for us was we managed to catch a movie shoot in progress - a fighting scene.
Park is filled with famous buildings and areas around Shanghai. Nanjing Road in the 1930s was spectacular. Good park to walk around and take lots of photos. Cafes are around for drinks n food.
It was not crowded when we were there last weekend so we liked it.

First of all, if you're headed there expecting Universal Studios then it's most certainly not that.
Its a mid-size park/studio lot with lots of interesting looking buildings from different eras in China then the various Chinese interpretations of English/French/Italian etc buildings. Each street and area has a different look and feel and it feels very immersive. The more intriguing areas are actually the ones based on China or Asia and you can often feel like you're in Chairman Mao era in a very eerie way.
There is a martial arts show twice a day, its in Chinese so not easy to follow, its fairly comical rather than impressive in a technical sense. It was enjoyable enough though.
You can go inside a few of the buildings but most of the sets are closed off which is a bit of a shame. There is a museum part in one of the buildings and you can see old props and costumes and some clips from films shot on the streets you walk down.
I went on a weekday morning and the only other people there were school children so it felt very sparse and empty which again gave it an eerie but interesting feeling when walking around.
If you like films and set design or you're looking for a cool place to take photos then this could well be up your street. If you want a theme park then Id just go to Disney Land instead.

Not very interesting at all. Vacant buildings with the odd restaurant and tourist shop. Yes you can see the odd tv or movie being filmed which is interesting. Don’t do the 5d show. Not worth it at all.

i visited Shanghai Film Park recently while on business in Shanghai. Firstly be warned it is a long way out of the city of Shanghai and took us by car just under two hours. It cost the equivalent of £8 to get in and the park is a pleasant way of sending a leisurely 3/4 hours. You will need good weather and most sites are outside and there is a lot of walking to be done in a large area. The lake is very picturesque and the church is very spectacular. Nanking Road themed 100 years ago is also good and the European section is nice. The disappointing part is it badly needs some tlc! Parts of the park are filthy and badly maintained and the large steam train is rusting away. Some of the wax models are very good but the glass badly need cleaning. I also thought the catering was poor.

Wanna have an insight of how the Old Shanghai looked like? This is the right place to be. A very authentic reconstruction of Shanghai in the first decades of 20th century, with a charming and mysterious vibe. There's a great chance to find a movie crew shooting on sight and who knows, maybe it will be the day to meet your favourite Chinese actor/actress.

Since I was a kid I have been watching lots of Chinese movies and dramas. One of my favorite ones is Romance in the rain (pinyin: Qing Shenshen, yu mengmeng). Being at where the dramas was filmed had been my wish. And it came true in Mar19. The film base is amazing in which you could find Shanghai back in 1930s. Walking in the film park is like walking in the movie scenes.
A must see in Shanghai!
