I visited this place with my family on November 2022.
A great place (double check location as you might miss it from the road).
The dogs were friendly too!
Price was P200 to try out the pottery making and P200 for the instructor.
They are selling a very tasty yogurt - a must try!
They also have bread with cheese and etag (meat filling).
A great place, be sure not to miss this one if you are in Sagada :).

I took a 2 hours lesson with two amazing ladies, that were very patient with me (Im a begginer) and chatty and nice. The lesson costed 700 php and lasted way longer than 2 hours as I was also allowed to watch the presentations for othrr tourists and was given small snacks out of the ladies lunhc. Totally recommended!
But if you take a lesson remember that you will have the clay all over you 😆

A Nice place with very nice people there.
But there’s no photo taking allowed.
We went there at the afternoon but it was raining.
Our 5 children enjoyed it a lot, I’m glad we got to touch it.
Very expensive price, but very strait beyond quality.
We enjoyed as one family vacation, recomended for young children too, would enjoy.

The paid demo was lightning quick - maybe less than 5 minutes. You'll learn more from free online demos on youtube.
They have a display of some pottery work but no picture taking allowed. If you pay more, you can try to make your own pottery, but you won't be able to take home your handiwork since weeks are needed to dry them.
Still, it was good to note that a foreigner taught the locals pottery as a means of livelihood. But as a destination, Sagada Pottery Center is not worth the time and effort expended.

Если вы любите делать что-то своими собственными руками, то ощущения от соприкосновения с глиной того стоят.

We made a quick stop here before heading to Lake Danum. There were already a lot of people there when we arrived at late afternoon. The briefing and demo was in batches so we did not wait long for our turn. The fee was Php100.00 each (there wer 2 of us) with other groups. The best wart of the experience was the guests getting to try it out.
There were pottery for sale to take home. There were also some home made yogurt and some bread for sale for those who would like to bring it to Lake Danum.

it like the old days playing with mud....
was a very interesting and happy experience...
this is how the locals from sagada maximized the uses of their minerals located nearby to develop extraordinary pieces...

when the demo for pot-making started, the movie ‘ghost’ came to
mind. and i imagined demi to be just in front of me being caressed by his ghost husband being portrayed by patrick swayze. i have always associated pottery-making with affection and romance.
one is not allowed to take pictures inside so i obeyed. there were finished products for sale but it
looked like their prices were too high to be taken home. the space appears more like a mini-museum than a store. some items really looked old as dusts gather on top.

We dropped by to check how they do this kind of thing. After a quick demo, we tried our hands at doing it, guided by the lady potter. Impressive how the clay gets molded and becomes a beautiful piece of pottery.

The pottery co-op and training centre was started by an American named Sanderson in an attempt to start a sustainable alternative besides farming for the people. It started with 15 students but now the numbers have dwindled to two. The woman who demonstrated on the pottery wheel is one of the two remaining and was taught her craft by Mr. Sanderson. Most have gone back to either farming to moved to the cities where they could make a better living. It was only after the demonstration that we were asked for 100 pesos which we were not expecting. There is a showroom but the items were quite expensive and it would be very difficult for us to carry around without breaking. They also sell homemade breads on the premises. Rather sad.
