Part of the trip to the valley are the caves. Whether you visit one or many you will be impressed by how the early hermits lived in this rough but majestic environment.

Amazing destination for hiking and nature lovers but also very interesting for its historical and archeological aspects as you can discover many caves and monasteries with paintings, engravings, water, and stories ... it is an amazing walk in the nature did it several times early morning (started at 4:00 am) or afternoon starting 3:00 pm with overnight in the valley !! Amazing and must see especially for nature lovers !!

The Qadisha Valley's many natural caves have been used as shelters and for burials back as far as the Palaeolithic period. The Aassi Hauqqa ( cave) in particular, near Hawqa, Lebanon

It's a bit of a schlep to get to the caves but the trek is amazing because you get wonderful views of the valley below.
Once you're at the caves, it's like stepping into another realm. It kind of looks like Voldemort's horcrux cave but far more pleasant.

One of many reason to visite Qadisha Valley is to visite the caves where the christians were refugees from the otomonan and mamelucs attacks. There are many caves, most of them you need to walk with an expert guide as George. I have visited many in a two days trekks there with Libantrek company even there is a cave where an eremit lives since long time ago.

Пещера находится не около главной дороги, поэтому без машины туда не просто добраться. Мы потратили немало времени на дорогу и какого же было наше удивление, когда, приехав в рабочие часы пещеры, мы узнали, что смотритель закрыл пещеру на два с половиной часа раньше только потому, что ему в пещере было холодно сидеть. Пещера государственная и нанятый работник (как мы поняли) не имеет права закрывать пещеру раньше по своему усмотрению. Просто его никто не может проверить, так как он работает там один. Разочарованы всей этой ситуацией. Пещеру мы так и не увидели...

the cave itself is nice, nothing extraordinary, though, yet not only it offers great views of the valley below and mountains above, but also gives a fresh and moist break from the heat and dryness of the area

Walking this distance to see the caves was well worth it. The walking distance had nice views, we got multiple pictures down the way. The caves are lovely with just right temprature. sitting later outside the cave at this little cafe was also soothing with its nice breeze and outstaning views.

It's a nice grotto. Loved the walk to reach the grotto. If ur in the area, it is good to visit. The grotto is a but neglected by the government, it's only enlightened for 250m inside.

Only one chamber is available and it is pretty nice, plus you can take pictures inside. What instead is pretty bad is the maintenance of this place, lighting is a dream, therefore you have some difficulties to reach the chamber unless you have with you a flashlight. In any case to reach the main chamber was a kind of adventure, there is a narrow path flanked by an impetuous and noisy river, which is really fascinating. The walking path, in some parts, is flooded by water and sometime is very slippery, so good shoes are strongly advised.
