nice for a small visit and a funny place to look around, but entrance price (25$) was to much (value / money). You will spent about 30 to 45 minutes here so you have to think about if you think this is worth the money.

Great restaurants and good BBQ. Went to piano bar waited to see bats and they didn’t come out. Went the last night we were there recommend going sooner it was hot in July there.

This is a pretty small museum, but it has some interesting things. Some of it may be fake, but it's interesting nonetheless. The best part is the wax figures of movie/book monsters. Their gift shop is pretty awesome too, albeit pretty crowded since you have to go through it first.

Years and years have gone by and today was sober enough to walk in to see the Museum of the Weird. Well not exactly not the sober part, but it was on my list of places to see over the summer. My first impression was this place was small but as I walked inside I enter a new realm. Just the lobby has lots to see. I bought tickets and my wife and I entered at our own risk. I don’t want to give out surprises but his place was amazing, and crammed full of weirdness and exotic trinkets. It’s much bigger than I thought with lots of rooms and floors to see.
As the sign said you will see shrunken heads, fee jee mermaid, cyclops pig, and much more like wax figures. There is even a second gift shop on the top floor. I was very fun to visit and see in keeping Austin weird.

Is a budget take of “Ripley’s believe it or not” but dingy, smaller, dirtier, and less organized. There are electric cables in sight and layers of dust. Is definitely quirky and weird. I enjoyed it, but I would not have payed what they charge for the value of the delivery and the time spent in there. I’m unsure if I would recommend a friend to do it at least once while visiting Austin.

I went many years ago and it was interesting.
I’m giving it one star JUST for this reason: They have a lizard there that seems to live in a small bucket last I was there? It probably has a nicer enclosure somewhere. Either way, I’m not sure a lizard belongs there, it seemed a sad place for a beautiful creature but I’m a huge animal advocate so that made me sad. For that reason alone I won’t be back, lizard was adorable though and would love to see it living its best lizard life w/friends and a proper area

This is a small place so don't get it confused for the palace of wax
Its a super silly(the stories people believed back in the day) yet freakin cool museum to visit, we had a lot of fun and hope to come back with the kids!

There were a few cool things to look at and read but it felt a bit like a tourist trap. There wasn't much room so it felt like I was in the way whenever I stopped to read the signs. I left feeling underwhelmed.

This was a nice pleasant surprise of a place. We had some plans cancelled in downtown Austin and found this place for my family to enjoy. There are reproductions as well as actual oddities. I’d recommend this for people who like carnival attractions.

It took about an hours to go thru this museum. It's has history of some weird and curiosity. It is as billed (BT Barnum) type show. It is a good time filler.

Is this accessable for those with mobility issues? My friend is not in a wheelchair but needs places to rest frequently due to severe joint pain. So multiple benches or resting places, and wide walking space would be needed for her to be comfortable and enjoy herself.

No, there are stairs that bring you to a show upstairs. There is a narrow winding passage way as well.

I believe kids are about seven dollars per child under 8(I can't remember if it's under 8 or 9). Adults are around $12 but I'm not sure about senior citizen. I never looked at that price. Sorry, I'm not too helpful but I think your kids should go somewhere else because this is 10-30 minutes to look at and short show. I'm not sure if your kids likes weird things then go for it but the money isn't worth to spend. Like I said before, if the price is $5 dollars per person/child then I'll go there for sure. Let me know if you like it or not.

Wiley, thanks for inquiring! The price for seniors is $11 and includes the museum, guided tour, and show. Kids under 8 are $7 each.
I hope you can make it, my wife and I are the owners and put our heart and soul into building this place and providing our guests with quality entertainment.
