Awesome quaint bar

This a charming little bar with great drinks and hosts. The environment was phenomenal with light American jazz playing in the background. The bartender and owner showered us with Japanese snacks and taught us how to speak Japanese as well. Overall, it was a great experience!

Solid bar, world class service

This bar is easy to miss from the outside but once you enter, the owners make you the center of their world. From suggesting drinks to try, to giving Japanese lessons, and even providing a seemingly endless supply of snacks, this bar has the best service I've ever experienced in a bar. Highly, highly recommend a visit if you're in Hiroshima

Sets a high standard for service

Wandering around the bar district provided hundreds of options. We were drawn to the door of this establishment because of it's blank dark wood facade. It's a one room bar with high end brands and a staff of two who provide freshly prepared snacks, conversation, and entertainment including a gramophone. The owner has an interest in classic American Jazz. At one point the younger bartender went out to buy us Coca-Cola for a mixer.

Diamond in the rough

After stumbling upon what seemed to be Hiroshima's nightclub district myself and my partner walked amazed through the crammed streets, past night clubs, eateries, dessert shops and pubs (most of them on several floors above street level). Looking for somewhere for a drink, we were overwhelmed by the amount of things to look at and these seedy-looking one-room-rent-a-nightclub-guide type places. Lots of women in doorways also! It's 22.1.2015 and it was raining very badly, so we crept under an over hang for some shelter while we decided which direction to take home.
Low and behold the door we were standing next to had and "Edinburgh" motif on it (being from Scotland we were pretty excited about that!) We built up the courage to walk through this wooden door, not sure what was on the other side. (There is a small lit sign outside saying the name).
Drenched and very cold we were greeted by warmth from a beautiful wooden bar lined with about 6 stools and 2 very welcoming hosts behind the bar (I reckon a mother-daughter business) The only other two in the bar also seemed to greet us and pull us in from the dreek outdoors. Apart from the bar and the stools there is little room for anything else other than lifting your drink to your mouth :)
My other half was very happy to see they had Laphroaig 10 behind the bar with one nip left! Other than that they had a safe amount of Sake and other familiar spirits inc jack daniels, vodka, rum etc.
We were given (free I think!) bar snacks of nuts, crab stick crisp things and then asked if we wanted to try khaki (always up for a challenge we accepted!) Mouth watering orange fruit. Delish! The hospitality was overwhelming, and despite the language barrier (which was pretty strong) all 6 of us managed to have a good laugh about being from Scotland and the sign on the door.

We paid Y2000 for 1 laphroaig 10 whisky and a jack daniels and coke. Considering the service and the very tasty bar snacks I thought that was great!

NB - When I wanted a cola mixer and they realised they had run out, the bar maid quickly grabbed her umbrella and ran out in the pouring rail for a bottle of cola for me!!
