Very affordable grand prix...unfortunately its not held here any more..Malayasia is not a very cheap country...be careful at the china town...shop around before purchasing anything to get the best deal if you are not in a hurry!

I was fortunate enough to be seated where I had a view on the last part of the opening straight, corner 1, 2, 3 and 4. All the action on the day happened right in front of me and I as truly blessed with a lot of action.
The fact that it was the last F1 to be held on those grounds made it extra special.
The only negative are the prices of the merchandise.

It started to pour and buckets load as the Porsche Carrera Cup warmed.up to race.
It stopped almost as quickly as it came. So it was not as shearing hot as it would be.
They charge and arm and leg for food and drinks, this year Heineken is the beer at MYR 16.00 each, there's Satay at MYR 25.00 for six sticks of Satay. Most food are around that price.
Otherwise the smell of gasoline, and the roar of F1 engines at maximum revs makes up an exciting and vibrant race. The grand stands were packed with hardly standing room.
Farewell.

Visited F1 2016. From staying in Kuala Lumpur near sentral access to Sepang circuit was with weekend ticket for train and shuttle bus. Train from Sentral to KLIA easy to access and well directed. Shuttle to track also very easy although returning on an evening almost doubled the time due to traffic. Would suggest walking from the drop off in the main car park to the entrance, it's only a 5 minute walk, I made the mistake of getting the circuit shuttle one day to realise they loop the circuit in one direction stopping at all car parks so i ended up going all the way around the track back to almost where i started! The circuit itself is very well laid out, great views and plenty of merchandise and food stands in the main mall area between the main and back straights. Great views from the main grandstand over to the pits and behind that of the infield part of the tack turns 4-6. Fabulous weather although take sun protection and buy water, it gets very humid at this time of year.

.their strap line not mine! But it was very hot and humid. Very reasonable priced seats but not much entertainment other than racing! Food available is local and ok - recommend the satays. If you have a sat & sun ticket you get to roam all stands on Friday. Most seats in the stands are in the shade....we had turn 1&2 E row t and views were pretty good of the pit straight and the first corner.
A bit of a trek from Kuala Lumpur to the circuit but public transport package available and fairly priced- goes via the airport. You are well guided from the sentral station. Taxis from hotels only will take 4 but possible to get a larger one from taxi rank. Friday its possible, but not guaranteed, to pick up a smaller taxi for 150mr £30 outside circuit.

We had great seats in the second top row of section N2.05, which is on the main straight about 200 metres from the start finish, and opposite the leading teams pits-- we were between red bull and Williams. The view was outstanding, and the seats had good room and were quite comfortable. We were in the shade all day ( essential) and had a nice breeze blowing through the stand-- overall, it was very comfortable.

Our package included bus travel there and back from the city. Leaving at 8am made it a long day, but we obviously missed the traffic in the morning, so got there in excellent time, around 55 minutes. For the return trip, bus was meant to pickup at 5.30, but was held up in traffic and didn't arrive till 6pm, which was a drag as you had to wait in the hot sun. Trip back to town was 1.5 hours, which was great-- had been advertised as 2.5 hours.

The race itself was terrific-- safety cars meant lots of pit stops & tyre changes, so it was very exciting.

The thing that lets the event down is the lack of things to do or places to sit in the area between the stands-- it's basically very hot brick paving, with some reasonable food outlets, but not much else. The only alcohol you could buy was beer, which left a lot of people without any choice, and we only saw one overcrowded bar. There were a few cars on display, and a couple of rides for kids, but very little compared with either Singapore or MELBOURNE, where you can happily wander from amusement to display to bar or to restaurant.

The other thing that compared poorly with the other two tracks was the control of access to the stands. Lots of people from the lower deck stand came to the upper deck and just tried to grab a seat. Others stood in the aisles or in common areas, blocking the views of the people who had paid to sit there. Whilst this didn't happen all the time, it could easily be managed so it never happened.

So bottom line, if you're a dedicated F1 fan and want to see the race from an excellent stand with a great view of the pits, there are great opportunities to do so at Sepang. If however it's all about atmosphere and a full day of things to do, in addition to the race, you might be disappointed

For this year the Malaysian Formula1 Grand prix 2016, the authorities are much better organised in terms of their infrastructure & management control. And they should be as they have been staging this event for many years now.

There are so many suggestion and ways to get to Sepang Formula 1 circuit in the internet but try this...it is an unorthodox way to get there. For a start get a hotel that is near to the rail line tract. For a recommendation Ibis Styles @ Fraser Business park could be a good choice as it is near to railway track of Chan Sow Lin as the nearest station. Board the train there to Bandar Tasik Selatan - cost about RM$2. From there switch over to KLIA Express or the bullet train to KLIA airport - cost about RM$38 From KLIA transfer to  a shuttle bus to F1 circuit - cost RM$10. The whole journey is about 45 mins to 1 hour.

Great race on a very nice circuit. The Malaysian Grand Prix is sure to surprise you with low prices and great viewing. Even through crowded on race day it was not nearly as bad as some others. Crowd control and parking was well organized. We bought early bird tickets, online in advance, which cost about $75 each for three days but were told you could still get tickets on race day.We also bought food with our tickets for the three days, picked it up at the cafe and then brought it to our stands. we also bought food from the local vendors at the F grandstand which was excellent. All told a great F 1 experience with a taste of Malaysia!

Since I shall be visiting KLIA on the day of the Malaysian GP I tried several abortive times to buy a ticket just for the day of the race. Eventually got thru to Roy at the circuit who adamantly played the party line and refused. Poor show organisors.
You MUST purchase three day passes. No flexibility what so ever. I wonder how many empty seats and spaces will be seen?
