It is about a 10-minute walk from Kakuozan Station.
It was built in 1904 to enshrine the relics (remains of the Buddha) received from Chulalongkorn (Rama V), the fifth king of Siam (now Thailand). Due to this history, it is an independent temple that does not belong to any sect. The mountain name "Kakuo" represents Shakyamuni, and the temple name "Nichi-Tai" represents the friendship between Japan and Thailand. The principal image is a gilt bronze Shaka Nyorai statue (granted by the King of Siam).
The mountain gate (built in 1989), main hall (built in 1984), and five-story pagoda (built in 1997) are made of reinforced concrete. All are well-built, but lack charm. The imperial plaque on the front of the interior and exterior of the main hall was a gift from King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) to celebrate the completion of the current main hall, and is inscribed with "Shakyamuni Buddha" in Thai characters.
The pagoda containing the Buddha's relics is located in an enclave-like area across the prefectural road from the main hall.

This is the only inter-denominational temple in Japan that does not belong to any particular sect and accepts all Buddhists.
As the temple name suggests, this temple has deep ties to the Kingdom of Thailand.
The Shaka Nyorai statue, the principal image of the temple, was a gift from King Chulalongkorn of Thailand in 1900.
It is a 1,000-year-old gilt bronze Buddha that is a national treasure of Thailand.
It has long, slender limbs and slender, graceful fingers.
The gently smiling Buddha is a symbol of friendship between Japan and Thailand.
The plaque hanging in the center of the main hall was handwritten by King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
It reads Shakyamuni Buddha in Thai characters.
It is also the only temple in Japan where the remains of the Buddha rest.
The Nittaiji Hoan Pagoda is designated as a tangible cultural property of Aichi Prefecture.
The Hoan Pagoda is 15 meters tall.
It is a Gandhara-style pagoda made of granite.
The relics are enshrined on the second floor of the pagoda.
The pagoda, in front of which is the worship hall, and in front of that is the Tsutenmon Gate.
General visitors can offer their respects in front of the Tsutenmon Gate.
Put your hands together in prayer at the pagoda, which can be seen briefly at the back of the worship hall.
The Thai-style flower decorations that have been offered are also interesting.
The pagoda is on a different site to the main hall.
It is located on the north side, across the main street.
It's a bit of a walk from the main hall, but it's a place worth visiting.
Don't miss it!

As you walk along the approach from Kakuosan subway station, you will see a large mountain gate. On the left and right of the gate are the Buddhist disciples Kashyapa and Ananda. As the temple is an independent temple that does not belong to any sect, it is run by multiple inter-sects, and each sect takes turns serving as the chief priest. At the unveiling ceremony of the bronze statue of King Chulalongkorn, which is erected in front of the left of the main hall, the current King Rama X sat next to him as the king's representative when he was still the crown prince. The pagoda where the Buddha's relics are enshrined was built in the precincts on the opposite side of the prefectural road. However, the general public cannot go up to the pagoda and can only look at it from the Tsutenmon Gate, a short distance away.
