I have been going to this market for several years and find it has everything you need including some good foods and a great atmosphere. We always manage to get a seat and have a few beers at a couple of the 'bars'. Last night we couldn't get a seat at our usual, so ended up sitting at the bar next to the German sausage barbeque place. The woman who owns it was already moaning to a nearby table about some people that had short changed her by 20 baht which we thought at the time was a bit ott! We didn't ask the price of the Chang beers (a big mistake) and had a couple of large ones, when we got up to pay my husband offered her 160 baht (80 baht a beer), which is the norm with the other bars we usually go to, but she said no, no its 240 baht, 120 each beer. We were shocked and told her so and said we wouldn't be returning - she commented that she doesn't do food (neither do the other bars we go to) and just laughed at us. Now I realise why most of the local farangs choose a particular bar and don't frequent her place! We usually drink around four/five large between us but was glad this night we ended up with just the two! A word of advice, something we normally do everywhere we go - if no menu ASK the price! It might not be much for someone on a short holiday but for people that live here for several months of the year it's a lot to pay for a Chang beer in a grubby bar at the market! Other than this gripe it's worth going to for the selection of foods and drinks at great prices.

A local market that is open every Wednesday late afternoon/evening. I recommend this for local foods and snacks (very cheap!) But not much more than that

Where most people go to get fresh fruit, meat, veggies. Everything is prepared as you watch. Some of the meat tables have different types of meat to close together, so look before you buy and cook it hot and well.. The sea food is amazing. It is like an old general store a bit of everything, worth a visit to experience real Thailand, nothing we bought made us sick. Every vendor happy clean and tired by noon. Seeing a vendor snoozing was common. Bring cash. Don't waste their time asking questions unless you are buying. The unusual smell is like a wall.

Хороший рынок фруктов и еды. Работу начинает ориентировочно с 16 часов. Похож на рынок который работает по средам на площади. Но на этом рынке нет вещей практически. Было 2 лотка с распродажами. Например футболку купила за 50 батт а супер шорты за 40 батт. Рекомендую на рынке супер рыбу в соли стоит 140 батт и подаётся с рисом который стоит 10 батт зелень бесплатно

Cha-Am market is for locals and tourists. There is everything here from trinkets to all manner of food. It is worth popping in a) to get out of the sun and b) to see the vast range of goods on offer. There are food vendors as well where you can get a bite to eat.

Utrolig mye matretter som tilbys, både småretter og større retter. Mye frukt og grønnsaker, klær, dippedutter som du ikke visste at du trengte + mye, mye mer. Må oppleves for sin sjarm.

Her finner du frukt,fisk, mat og klær og alt mulig annet. Dette er det markedet som de lokale bruker å handle på. Her er det mye inntrykk både av lukter og utvalg av varer og mennesker. Dette er et ekte marked som du bør få oppleve.

If you never have seen an Asian market this is the place to be. But for foreigners who wants to eat and sit down to eat and relax this is not the place to be. There are not many places where you easily can sit down like the other night market's food courts.
