Was it nice? Yes, nice garden, well organized exibition.
Was it worth 20 shekel? No, the museum is really small with pictures about Russian pilgrims in Israel in the 19th century (no, they are not Russian immigrants as someone else wrote) and COPIES of findings from excavations on the site (the originals are in Moscow).

If you passionate about archeology and you are in Jericho, this is the perfect museum. It is quite small and we quickly go around, but the pieces exposed have an explanation on the side with, sometimes, a magnifying glass to see them better, things that the Rockfeller Museum in Jerusalem dosen't have, and it spoils the visit.
The garden is very beautiful, and well maintained, and contrasts well with the city which is literally an open dump, so it's really nice. There is an excavated place also in which we can have fun trying to guess what it was for and analyze the different parts.
Also this is cheap, only a few dollars, and has AC, so it worth it.

It will take you an hour tour to see a tree. It’s a nice walk in the garden. Great view of a tree!!!

The Russian Museum houses one of the 3 claimed Zaccheus' trees, Some experts claim that this is most probably the route Jesus took, but one never knows.. The museum itself houses various items of archeological significance from this area and specifically from where the museum sits, including a partial mosaic floor. There is also an active dig, right outside in the back of the museum. The museum is located in a beautiful parklike grounds and the grounds are very beautifully kept. The tree, itself, can be seen from the main road outside the museum.There is a fee to go into the museum.

This museum was originally purchased by a Russian monk because of the biblical significance of the tree on the property. However, during construction, they discovered old remains and a beautiful mosaic. It does not take long to go through the museum, but worth the stop.

Несмотря на то, что музей практически пустой, вход туда платный. Но зато интересно пофотографироваться рядом в табличкой об открытии улицы имени Президента Медведева :)

This museum is an interesting presentation of Russian immigrants to Israel. It has lovely surroundings and presumably the tree that Zacheus climbed to see Jesus according to the Bible.

The first time I visited the Russian museum compound in Jericho I was truly impressed. Next time I went to Jericho I took my family to visit the place (I'm in Jericho at least once a month). The gardens are very neat and beautiful place to take a stroll and enjoy the greenery, depending on the weather, including the famous sycamore tree from the biblical story of Zacchaeus.
The museum building is done in a roman style inline with the roman house ruins excavated at the property and containing a beautiful mosaic floor displayed at the museum.
Most interesting for me were the photographs on display of Russian pilgrims who visited Palestine around the beginning of the 1900's. The photographs were found at old building on the property which were used by the pilgrims.
The staff is very friendly and will take the time to give you a tour and explain the details about every artifact on display.
