One of the 51 shaktipeetha.
Situated in quite lane of Banaras this is a Little Charming temple where no one Forces you to buy Prasad or perform some Puja.
Google Map is of good Help and it is more conveniently approachable from Gate no. 2 of Kashi Vishwanath
Goddess Meenakshi and Kamakshi are said to be sisters of the Vishalakshi

Enter from gate no. 2. You will see a small board on the right in about 100m. I went at about 7.30am on a Monday. No queue. Small, quaint temple. Purohita don't force you for Pooja. It is entirely your choice. If there is limited rush, they allow you to sit in a corner and meditate. Maybe it was the time of the day or the really beautiful statute of the divine mother, the overall vibe was peaceful.

Religious, Serene and quite place
Known as one among the 51 shaktipeeths.
As per the legend, devi Sati's earring has fallen here and hence the ghat is known as Manikarnika ghat. The pinda is behind the idol.
One has to walk Quite a distance from main roads where the rickshawwalas drop you but google map guided me well through the very narrow pathways/street.
As guided by some locals, this place is more closely approachable from the Manikarnika ghats but you might have to climb up/down stairs.
There is no ticket to take darshans here and wait time is also minimal.
When I went there there was just one haarwala, not much is available near the temple so you can buy things beforehand to be offered to the devi.

Visiting the temple of Visaalaakshi Ma and having her darshan is a must for devotees visiting Kashi. One of the Ashtaa dasha Shakti peeth, she is a powerful goddess. Seeing her murti and getting pooja done, and seeing the original murti behind the present murti is a blissful experience.

This temple is located 600mts from the Main temple Gate 1.
It is one of the 18 Shakthi peetha.
We need to walk through the narrow streets and criss-cross.
It is not crowded anytime.
there are 2 idols one behind the other the Front idol was installed by Adi Shankaracharya and the second idol is the original.
This is constructed by south India and mostly south Indian people visits here.
Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are allowed.
This temple remains open from 6 AM to 10 pm.

Visited this temple in the morning on the 2nd day of our Varanasi trip. Vishalakshi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Vishalakshi, a form of goddess Parvati at Mir Ghat on the banks of the Ganges at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, It is known as a Shakti Pitha where the earrings of the Sati is said to have fallen therefore it is one of the most sacred temples dedicated to the Hindu Divine Mother. The temple is situated nearby the Manikarnika ghat famous for creamations.
It was good that we took help of a local guide so that we could cover many temples. The temple is open from 5.00 am to 9.45 pm except afternoon time. We had a very good darshan and offered puja. It is few minutes walking distance from Kashi Vishwanath temple. Vishalakshi Temple is known for the festival of KajaliTij, held on the third day during waning fortnight in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada (August).

The three most important depictions of Godess Parvathi are the Kashi Vasalakshi, Kanchi Kamakshi and Madurai Meenakshi. Having seen the later two, the Vasalakshi temple was a far cry from the rest. A simple structure managed by a purely commercial minded management.
