In less than 5 days New Style Tailor whipped up about 12 items of both ladies and men's clothing, including jackets. The workmanship was excellent and the seamstress was very honest in her approach. WE were all super pleased with the result. If you are in Siem Reap and want clothes made either off other clothes, or by design pay them a visit.

I have had many tailored clothes made in different places on South East Asia. This place makes it into poor only because of the great stitching on the clothes only.

I intended on getting a three piece suit and some shirts made but decided to test the ground first with a couple of shirts as I had plenty of time in Siem Resp

Communication was very, VERY difficult. I picked out a suit design and was shown a selection of fabrics. I chose a conservative light grey plaid and she laughed and took me to another fabric selection saying "No, this one'"! When I selected a dark grey she laughed again and proceeded to another fabric selection. I gave up on the suit and started again with two shirts and was greeted with the same tactic. I think she eventually gave up and we agreed on two fabrics for the shirts. When she measured me I took note of the measurements for two fitted shirts. A translator would help, but I don't think that is the real issue here.

When I picked the shirts up they were very well made and looked super. They fit well enough but very roomy for a fitted shirt. I also noticed that some of the details on the design I selected were either missing or completely changed. They looked good though. When I took them back to my hotel I measured them up to find that the measurements taken were obviously only as very loose guideline. In fact only the chest measurement was close on one of the shirts. They were made to different measurements despite being the same design.

I had noticed a lot of Government and hotel uniforms being made there, so I don't think they need or even want tourist business. It appears that they do no advertising that is not local.

My conclusion is, if you want a well tailored garment, avoid this place at all costs. They are not cheap, just reasonable and they definitely DO NOT tailor. They take a lot longer than places in Vietnam, Hong Kong and KL, but their tailoring skills are very, VERY POOR. If you want a uniform that fits reasonably well but will last a long time, go to these guys. I just think it defeats the purpose of going to a tailor on the first place. If your standards in tailoring are low, this is the place for you.

There are plenty of places in Hoi An in Vietnam that are much better. If you can't make it there go to Dung Tailor in Saigon.

Spent four days in Siem Reap in summer 2014, and me and two buddies each bought a tailored suit at this place. We'd hoped to get suits in BKK, but the timing didn't work out, and we had one last stop before heading to Korea for a buddy's wedding. Recommended by the folks at the Siem Reap Hostel (a great place), we stopped into New Style Tailor, picked materials and styles, and they turned around three fantastic suits in three days.

But I'd recommend you bring a translator if you hit this place. We had a great tuk tuk driver who translated, but without him we would have been lost. Overall, a great fit at great prices!

My husband got a suit tailored at New Style Tailor. It is incredible how all comes together. You choose on the beginning the material and style you would like, they take your measurements and 4 days later you receive a perfect tailored suit in top quality for a reasonable price.
We recommend to bring someone along who can translate to khmer, it makes things way easier.

I went to this place based on the previous recommendation and due to the fact that our hotel concierge knew where it was.

The place itself is indeed dumpy and on on the side of the road. The fabric selection for shirts (the only thing I was interested in) was rather scarce. They did have a lot of fabric, but most of it was targeted at the local population - ie a tad garish and rough on the eyes, not exactly subdued business style. Nevertheless, I did find 3 swatches I liked.

It took a bit of explaining (young girl/ daughter speaks enough english, but doesn't know tailoring well. her boss lady/mother knows tailoring, but not english). I wanted 3 shirts, with french cuffs, collar to accommodate a tie, and the collar inserts.

After getting measured and agreeing on the price (about $15/shirt, but varies depending on fabric), I was given a delivery date of 2.5 days - which was fine. When we showed up on the due date, however, they haven't even started on the shirts. It was a little annoying since I was due to fly out the following day. I was promised that shirts would be done the following day at 10 am. Good thing our tuk-tuk driver called, because they needed an extra hour to finish.

That said, despite the delay, shirts were decently made and did not require alterations, which was my main concern. The fit could have been a little better (they left some extra room), but I can live with that since the fit is still many times better than the shirts I get at the department stores for 4 - 5 times the price.

In summary, pad your time if you come here. It may be worth while picking up the fabric at the market and having these folks do the sewing. I did note that the street they were on had a few more tailor store fronts, didn't go in, but they looked a bit more "legit" - i.e. actual store fronts, rather than what looks like a big garage.

We were taken to New Style Tailor by a driver we had hired for the temples. He said the wealthy locals get their special occasion wear tailored there and that it was popular amongst them. To be fair it didn't impress us at all on first glance. It's a factory style tailor on the side of a dusty road (like a lot of places in Siem Reap). We decided to put our faith in them anyway as the owners seemed very trustworthy and understood what we wanted- even took a blazer that I bought in Australia and modeled my new blazer from it! They couldn't speak English too well but seemed to understand our hand gestures and measured us up and off we went. Less than 48 hours later my partner had an amazing fitting suit and three shirts and I had a replica of one of my favourite blazers - but better fitting! All this for only 230 US dollars! The quality of the material is amazing and we are ecstatic with the turn out of everything. This is worth your money!
