A surprise not too far from LPL

GJP has a mix of activities all reasonably priced. If you like adventure, there is a zip line. There is a beautiful botanical garden and a restaurant to enjoy the view. There are local high school girls performing beautiful Laos traditional dance. There are also elephants available for riding (I am not a big fan , but these elephants did not outwardly exhibit stressed behavior). Just getting there is a fun experience. If you have a scooter, it’s a gorgeous trip after riding the local ferry across the Mekong.

Peaceful quiet afternoon

We hired a scooter from our hotel for 130000 ( approx £8) for the day.We headed off to find the local ferry which u / yr scooter cross for 10000 Kip , we visited the village u arrive and and Wat chompet ( take first right or ask villager to direct you).We then drove to Green park ( it is well signed by big posters or you google maps as we did).It’s a short 20 min ride.The park offers zip lines and rope course for about 450000 Kip , but we just paid the entrance fee of 35000 ( approx £1.85) to have a walk around the flower garden, listen to the birds, stroke the ostrich and feed two elephants with a basket of fruit( 50000 Kip / £2.50). we then had lunch at their restaurant ( tiger prawn soup for 50000 Kip and a beer loa and a fruit shake.After 2hrs 45 min we left and headed to the pottery village which is to the right ( approx five min drive from the ferry ).We watched pottery being made and skilled craftsmen do their designs .Goods are for sale but most will be difficult to take home so we merely brought some silly ornaments for 10/20000 Kip (approx 50/£1 each) simply to help their community out ( use yr bartering skills)

Scenic and well designed with various activity options

This facility is a short but scenic drive on good roads - worth a visit for a day trip from Luang Prabang! You can also arrange for longer stays in their guest facilities. Clearly built for (much) larger capacity, in the post- covid return of travellers we felt as it we had the park to ourselves. We enjoyed the botanical gardens and a swim at the waterfall. We were surprised to find elephants there, but had uninterrupted time feeding and interacting with these majestic beasts for a fraction of what such a tour might regularly cost. We didn't do any treetops or zip line activities but saw what looked to be equipped and qualified guides. There are both fast food and restaurant options on site. Enjoy this space before the throngs of tourists ramp up to capacity again. (and don't forget to stop into the pottery village en route!)

Belles installations. Lorsque nous sommes allées, le jardins n'étaient pas à son meilleur mais malgré cela c'était très beau.

For Birding, Walking, beautiful area

The Jungle park is a nice area for walking through jungle areas on boardwalks, enjoying flower gardens, picnics, or farm-to-table fare at a restaurant at reasonable prices. I'm surprised no one mentioned birding here. We were there from 10:30 - 12:30 and saw a number of birds, including s blue-throated barbet, white-capped water redstart, Davison's leaf warbler, and pied harrier. There are also opportunities for zip-lining, doing a rope course and trekking. The waterfall is only a trickle in early March (dry season), but still has rugged beauty and the weather was fantastic that time of year. There are also simple but new (nice quality) bungalows with a bathhouse that is shared, if you are interested in accommodation.

Very safe and clean; not a challenge for those who are looking for one

Had booked the rope course + zipline and probably because there wasn't anybody else who wanted the rope course, was deprived of it and told that I hadn't booked it. Otherwise nice guides in the trees

For en fantastisk kul opplevelse. Nydelig natur, godt miljø og ikke minst en helt topp service. Zipline-kurset er utrolig kult, med en flott park om du liker et lite adrenalin-kick.

We went to the Green Jungle Park with our three little boys while in Luang Prabang. They had a blast! The park is lovely and staff are security conscious. Even our 5 year old did zip lining and loved it! The transfer is also great. They collected us from the hotel and drove us on an electric car to the Mekong where we took the ferry. On the other side there was another car waiting for us. The guide was also great. All the family had a wonderful time!

Surprise, surprise

The Green Jungle Park is a hidden gem outside Luang Prabang.
Take the ferry over the Mekong river (5‘000 Kip per person, 10‘000 with motorbike), rent a Tuk-Tuk at the other side (100‘000 Kip to go, 3 hours stay and go back).
There is a zip-line park with nice long slides, a waterfall (to forget) and, a pathway through the jungle that leads to the flower park. Unexpected, beautiful!
