Huchuy Qosqo est un site inca méconnu mais véritablement spectaculaire. La beauté des ruines, situées en hauteur, est renforcée par la vue panoramique sur la vallée sacrée des Incas et les sommets enneigés des Andes. L'exploration des terrasses agricoles, des bâtiments en adobe et en pierre et des réservoirs d'eau a été une expérience unique, nous permettant d'imaginer la vie des Incas en ces lieux. Huchuy Qosqo est un site à ne pas manquer pour les amateurs d'archéologie et d'histoire inca.

Great experience with my friends

I had a great experience doing the Huchuy Qosqo Trek with my friends. The scenery was beautiful and the trek itself was challenging but very rewarding. We got to explore the ruins of this ancient Inca site and take in the incredible views of the Andes mountains. We also got to learn about the history and culture of the area from our local guide. All in all, it was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure!

Impresionante caminata desde tambomachay 06 horas .cansado pero vale la pena, se observa lagunas ,aves,algunos animalitos salvajes si tienes suerte . caminos prehispánico en partes restaurador en partes original. Leonpunku magnífico acceso para llegar al sitio arqueológico de huchuy Qosqo .caminata obligada si visitas acusco,lo recomiendo.

Clearly not the traditional touristic agenda in the Sacred Valley of Cusco and ... what a pleasure to discover this temple by the trail path.
The trail is slightly challenging due to the heights but, you are in the middle of the valley and very close to the local people who work & live there.
The temple is very nice. Great great time!!
The way back in the Valley towards Lamay is made through a very steep path but with great view ;)

Huchuy Qosqo Trek & Home Satay with SAM Travel!

Thanks for the special time I had with my young daughter Chelsey, 12 years old. We wanted a little adventure, moderate level of trek and a chance to truly meet the local people. This trek was perfect, with a home stay, a couple of days of hiking and of course Machu Picchu. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Huchuy Qosqo ruins, (little Cusco) but most of all our stay with our family IRENE (highly recommended) the first evening. They were so warm and really did their best to make us feel welcome. Our guide helped us with introductions. My daughter loved it. The second day in Sacred Valley with the Salt Mines & Moray were an incredible sight and so beautiful. Of course, Machu Picchu met all of our expectations, and our guide was so good at answering our questions with great English. Chelsey could not leave the Llamas alone. They were so fun for her to pet. We had just the right amount of hiking, fun with a real Inca family and Machu Picchu.
Once again thank you SAM Travel for making our trip so unforgatable!

Une petite randonnée assez physique (compter 1h30-2h de montée depuis le village de Lamay) et peu connu des touristes (pas inclus dans le billet touristique). La vue tout le long est exceptionnelle. L’idéal est de dormir a Lamay ou se trouve de début de la randonnée

Scenic incan ruins, not many tourists

The Incan ruins at Huchuy Qosqo (means "Little Cusco") are on a hillside with amazing views of the valley below. While visiting, no other tourists there, just a lot of sheep and a few locals taking care of them, was a refreshing break from the normal. I enjoyed just sitting in the field there, listening to the stream, and soaking up the views.

Access takes a little bit of work. I took a taxi up, the road is a bit rough and is about 30 minutes of switchbacks. I recommend this method, because the hiking trail has confusing branches and if you don't know where you're headed, could be easy to miss the correct turns. Take a local bus to the little town of Lamay, then just ask around at the bus stop to find a taxi who knows the road. From the end of the road up, is an easy 15 minute walk across the hillside to the ruins.

There is a small entrance fee (I think it was S/ 15?), an official walking around in the ruins will find you and collect it, nothing you need to plan in advance.

If you're in decent physical shape, go ahead and hike down instead of having the taxi wait. It's easy enough to see the branches in the trail looking down from above, takes about 2 hours to walk it, very steep.

Overall, very relaxing place to visit and enjoy, off the beaten tourist route.
