Concert: Seika Ishida Plays Mozart

The concert hall that I went to was situated on the second floor of a glamorous looking two/three story building. Compared to the Esplanade Concert Hall, it is sizeably smaller, but definitely provides a much less crowded and more cozy music listening experience.

I visited here for the first time to watch candle light. The place seems new, clean and the seat is comfortable. Something new to me😁

Iconic Structure

The colonial quarter is dominated by these Victorian styled British buildings and one of the best is the theater. Now we did not get to go inside but we admired it from nearly every place we did visit. It is that sort of Greek Revival 19th century style paint stark white that simply works perfectly with the sun and lush flora. We did not visit but we took a lot of pictures

Revamped and refreshed building

A good landmark of Singapore to visit, it houses a good couple of auditoriums that we recently brought the tot to to catch The Gruffalo, a children’s play. Seats were clean with children booster seats handed out at the entrance. No carpark linked to the building, we had to park at the National gallery cp and walk over, about 5 minutes.

外觀漂亮

這間音樂廳不但外觀漂亮，內裡裝修也很典雅。有幸獲朋友邀請到這邊欣賞一場合唱團音樂會。音樂廳的音響不錯，整個音樂會我都非常享受！

Great place to enjoy a concert or show

It is easy to get there, as many public transportation are available within walking distance.
If you are early for a concert or show, you can enjoy some good food or even do some shopping.
Good place also just to hang out.

Guided tour of VCH

I’d attended a lunchtime organ concert at the Victoria Concert Hall on a Monday afternoon and joined a guided tour of this beloved monument after the performance (prior registration required for the tour).

This was my second visit to the VCH after it was renovated. Very good acoustic and balance from where I was seated (last row).

Jacqueline, a volunteer guide, gave us a interesting run through of the history of VCH from Pre war, to how the pipe organ was being misused by the Japanese soldiers during World War 2, to post independence.

The tour lasted about 30 to 40 minutes and it was worth the time.
