Crowded on Sundays as the people flock to the Chapel, a 50 pesos entrance fee will be collected as good as a parking fee. However parking spaces are tight during Sundays . Better to explore the place during weekdays . Come here with your stomach full, the only restaurant available is a disappointment.

It was the 2nd anniversary of my wife's passing.I alaways avoid Manilla and fly to Clarke Airport direct from Heathrow with just a short layover in Hong Kong : how Cathay Pacific and Dragon Air manage to sync. a transfer of under 55 minutes I'll never know. It's always a joyous visit surrounded by a large and loving family. .no reason to be sad. I stay with my sister in law at the house my wife built from her earnings as a house maid and business-woman, when in Hong Kong. You could stay in hotels in the old Clarke Airbase ..but I recommend staying as I do in a small village to soak up the atmosphere and the hospitality OF local people , like the 108 strong family I am taken in by each year ( my wife was one of 17 children ). We go swimming in "resorts"...local farms who have set up swimming pools and family casitas, where you can eat your own food and enjoy karaoke afterwards. In my last day we decided to pile into the family van to visit the Monasterio se Tarlac, set in the magnificent hills that rise up on the horizon visible from Culatingan, the village where my wife was born. 25 of us enjoyed the Church the fantastic views and the sense of looking into another age.Entrance fee was just 50 pesos .a.very small price for lots of happy faces. The Philippines should receive more visitors especially to the areas that receive little attention ...the real Country isn't found in the resorts. I love the country and the people in their huge variety : they don't speak Tagalog where my family come from. They are proud Papapangan speakers. I will see you soon again, I hope next May.

This is a perfect place to meditate, contemplate and reconnect with God. You can stay at the chapel and commune with Him or have a walk and feel His presence in your steps. The view of the trees, mountains, and rice fields makes you submit to the existence and power of a divine Being. If you enjoy driving, the road going to the monastery in itself is a joy to behold.
When you are here, visit the Cafroozo Cafe, enjoy your coffee while contemplating and rejoicing in the greatness of this Being we call God.
PS. If you are escaping from the noise of this world, visit the monastery on weekdays. The place is full of people on weekends and holidays.

The view is very nice and solemn. They have big parking lots. They have food stalls. restrooms are clean ansd have toilet papers. Pros, the road giong there is under construction and very confusing. You go driving in a single lane then all of a sudden there's truck or another incoming vehicle towards you. Trucks are kinda fast for a narrow road.. So, i suggest to be very careful. entrance fee 50php. Overall, very worth it.

We spent Black Saturday in Monasterio, we arrived there around 3pm and as expected it was a torrid afternoon, I recommend to go there as early as you can for you to enjoy the place. We just used waze for direction, it took us 1 1/2 hr travel time from Tarlac city.
Reminder also, the church is located on the top most part of the mountain, no rough roads but be prepared to drive on steep roads.
There are vendors selling souvenirs and foods within the area.
The place is nice because of the good view, you will feel the relaxing vibe of nature, but, I think the place needs more improvement, something that will create tranquil vibe to tourists to complete their experience on this religious destination.

This place is a sanctuary away from the city life. It is beautiful and clean. It is also well maintained.
The mass felt so nice being where the place is.
I would recommend visitors to visit if you are in Luzon.

Tarlac may not seem like the most exciting place but actually it's got some excellent sights and this is one of them. The monastery is a good hour's drive from the city but worth it. A religious site yes, and you could easily find yourself participating in a service or mass. One large church, plus a smaller one. A big statue of Jesus. Nice views and photo opportunities. The restaurant and souvenir shops are distinctly average. Definitely worth it for a few hours out of the city.
