Bought a ring from Premadasas specified stones to be used but were changed with cracks and scratches - plus stones were dropping off - asked why no certificate of authenticity was issued? No answer - and MD will not answer? This man Premadasa is a cheat, stay clear and should be avoided full stop - very disappointed - check reviews of Premadasa store - Not very good - in fact thoroughly disgusting - Marie

I visited Premadasa as a visitor from O'seas, bought ring costing approx. $A1800.00?? requested Emeralds. 2 years later found 2 stones had dropped off! so much for technology & skilled workmanship! Took ring to local jeweller asked for emeralds be inserted in "holes!" Surprised to hear him say these are not emeralds they are Tsavorite! stones, I have never heard of - who gave Premadasa to go against my request? Not me! My Jeweller also mentioned stones were cracked and scratched!!! Which sounds like discarded stones are used for visitors from overseas!! Words unprintable! He also asked if I had been issued with a Certificate of Authenticity - answer was NO! Premadasa customer relations person!!! did mention that each purchase comes with the COA? Have been asking this question as to why I didn't get my COA?? and also a refund, as this ring is absolute rubbish!! The COA proves that the product is flawless, perfect and unblemished!!! - which this ring is NOT! No answer from Premadasa since 2022??? 2023 Get an email recently from J G Dhanika Senarath C/MD - presumably Premadasa - where he states he will not answer any future emails from me! Why? This proves that Premadasa is nothing but a fraud, cheat, swindler, corrupt, evil man - more words unprintable!!! Keep away from Premadasa Jewellers in Sri Lanka they are crooks! R I P

Calling on all gem lovers and bargain hunters to Sri Lanka: the small shop located at the Heritance Kandalama Hotel in Dambula is a must stop for you! Especially true if you are astute enough to be their first « lucky » customer of the day. The choices are plentiful, the quality is great, depending on your price range. I walked out of the place with beautiful handcrafted jewelry and could not be happier. Thank you!

Interesting video about gems, however, the man giving us information kept pushing us to buy items after the explanation. We were not interested to buy but he kept insisting and offering discounts. Moreover, the place smelled mouldy and this man had poor English. Not recommended.

Brilliant place to visit even if not wanting to buy. Starts of with a video telling you about precious and semi precious stones mined . How they are sorced and the various stages inbetween. No pressure to buy.

司机带我们去的这家店，说是最好最大的宝石店，因为疫情关系，没出门，这周去了很多大型商店，发现买的宝石和猫眼，有二颗是残次品，价格比上海的大型商店还贵了5倍！！！我们当初没有买宝石的想法，司机非要我们去看看说是最大的宝石商，因为司机看起来非常热情，甚至超过了自己家人，我们相信了他，带我们去的宝石店名字叫（PREMADASAS GEM&JEWELLERDAMBULLA LKA），这家店卖的宝石真的是价格贵，而且质量很差！！！

It's a terrible store. I am deceived. I bought ruby earrings at a store in Kandy. The store clerk welcomed me as a Japanese person in fluent Japanese. So I bought a pierced earring that was recommended for around 20,000 yen with a credit card. However, 200,000 yen was charged later. I made a complaint through the guesthouse who stayed there, but I couldn't hear it. The price is clearly higher than the price of the Japanese premadasas home page. It is a shop that sells like scams to tourists. I was told to give my email address because I wanted to contact you directly. It is the lowest store without sincerity. I want you to refund as soon as possible.
酷い店です。私は騙されたと思っています。キャンディにある店舗で私はルビーのピアスを購入しました。店員は日本人である私に流暢な日本語で接客しました。そこで私は2万円くらいと勧められたピアスをクレジットカードで購入しました。しかし、後日、20万円が請求されました。宿泊したゲストハウスの人を介して、間違いではないかとクレームを入れましたが、聞き入れられませんでした。日本のpremadasasのホームページのピアスの価格よりも、明らかに高い値段です。観光客を相手に詐欺のような販売をする店です。直接連絡を取りたいのでメールアドレスを教えろと言われたので、教えましたが、一切連絡が来ません。誠意のない最低な店です。早く返金して欲しい。

We purchased a stone from their dambulla store and asked for them to put it in a setting. When we returned to collect, the design was incorrect and then we noticed that the stone was actually cracked and not the same stone we had selected.
We asked for a refund but were told that international refunds take weeks to process. We opted to select another ring. After purchasing this ring (for more money again) we noticed that the ring was chipped. We returned the ring and insisted on a refund.
Again we were told due to the recent attacks that the central bank must first approve all international bank transfers. As we were on honeymoon we had no choice but to accept this information in good faith. We returned the ring and left.
3 weeks later and I have no contact from either the branch or head office of the company. My bank is attempting to initiate a refund but it's going to be a protracted battle.
Do not shop here (Dambulla branch, in our case but their head office and been equally unhelpful). They are unscrupulous people who are taking advantage of the recent attacks and tourists in general to sell poor quality stones at premium prices and in the event of realising their scam it is very difficult to get your money back.
Nobody needs this hassle on vacation. I'm still waiting for an update from a company rep and my refund
