Great prices and selection

So I was in Sri Lanka for official work and I wanted to buy one of the famous Sri Lankan blue sapphires.

The US Embassy gave me multiple locations to go to and all of them were so overpriced, a few of them were at USA pricing and above. So after visiting seven different gemologists for almost a week, I found the Gem Museum.

I delt with Sajith, he was very honest and upfront. With my experience from visiting all the other stores I was able to tell that his prices were truly wholesale.

I realize that many of the sapphires that he may have in inventory are not his own so therefore he can't work as much on the price but on the stones that he did own he was very reasonable on the pricing.

I will be using him exclusively for gems in the future. Highly recommended!

Selling fake items in a governmental shop - pathetic and funny

It was an under-skilled staff, that appeared to have no knowledge about gems, history of Sri Lanka or production of gems. We were brought here by our tour guides, as so many tourists are. It's an absolute pathetic way of trying to sell items and a disgrace to Sri Lanka. It is governmental corruption in the purest form, with dishonest people. Bought a little stone, green Topaz, for €27 after some intense conversations - for fun actually and kind of a good price, that appeared to be even fake upon check in The Netherlands. It's disgrace to Sri Lanka that governmental shops are selling fake stones and gems. I don't have words for it.

(With this background information it is understandable that more than 80% of Sri Lankan youth wants to leave the country.)

Hello, WE DO NOT SELL FAKE STONES I’m sorry that you got an under skilled staff (trainee) at the time of your arrival.. coz most of our skilled staff would have been busy at that time. We are not government shop, we are authorized by the Sri Lankan government to sell gemstones and jewellery. Your TOUR GUIDE might have mislead you or you would have understood it wrong. Also we DO NOT sell fake stones… we are one of the LARGET WHOLESALERS IN COLOMBO and our showroom is just an attraction. For you to test the €27 stone in Neatherlands, it should have costed you €30 atleast. So I assume you are smart not to spend more money testing than the item itself. So you would have asked your local jeweller and he being inexperience would have given you a wrong evaluation of the stone. I will pay you for a proper certification please do go to a proper laboratory and send me the certification. Please do not spoil another persons reputation by spreading false information Thank you

This is not a Museum just a cheating gem shop. They pushed me to buy earrings which broke ones I arrived back home. They promised great quality but at the end all fake, I complaint to my tour guide that they should removing them from there Programm. I lost 2h of my day tour there plus 120$.

Hello madam, Yes we are not just a museum, I do not know what your travel agent has told you. Also we do not charge any entrance fee. Just in case your travel agent has charged you We already had a conversation on WhatsApp and we agreed to replace the earring for you. And I clearly mentioned that we do quality work and the earring would have broken due to pressure in your luggage and not due to bad workmanship… also I did tell you the postal services aren’t working due to covid so when one of ur friends comes down to Sri Lanka we will give the replacement and for you to send back the ones you already have. Or else you will have to wait till things get back to normal during the pandemic. Also NOTHING WAS FAKE in our dealings I gave my best options as you were one of our customer. But I never expected you to give us a bad review after agreeing to give you a replacement even though it wasn’t our fault. Thank you

过来兰卡旅游，宝石是不得不看的！来到这里收到了热情的欢迎，观看过程中还给我们提供了咖啡红茶等饮品，真的是服务到家啦～哈哈哈～服务人员给我们讲解了宝石的来源还参观了模拟的矿井，很逼真！对于不同的宝石，他们还给我们做了详细的讲解，真的是涨姿势啊～～哈哈哈～为了送闺蜜，特意在他家选了一颗粉色蓝宝石然后定做成吊坠儿！也给自己选了一颗蓝宝石戒指，价格公道，跟国内比，便宜的不是一点半点啊。而且还配备证书，放心哦。真不错的地方哦～～

Hi travellers and business people

I visited Sri Lanka 4 times in one year. When I started to gem business, my first stop was Gem Museum. Thanks to Saajith and his father and brother, they did teach me a lot. Stones, jewelleries, business ways...

We did good deals and they always cared about me as a visitor in their country.

The first impressive thing was their friendship without any expectation. They have a big building full of business, but they spent a long time with me. Our friendship started in this way. First, trust and friendship.

They can introduce you stones, jewelleries, business and Sri Lanka. They can guide you. this family and their business environment are very ideal. I saw a lot of gem traders Chinese, Indian, European, Turkish, American... Gem Museum achieved to get trust of all these people from different nations.

Even though you don't want to do any business, just visit their precious environment and learn some new things about gem stones. I am pretty sure that you will find something for yourself.

Bought a lovely Sapphire Ring

Last week i visited Gem Museum and bought a Blue sapphire White Gold.
The person who attended my was so nice that he gave a very reasonable price. Much lesser compared to other places.
The Ring size was altered and engraved on behalf of my request, they did the job to the tip. It was perfect, very satisfied and hoping to visit and buy more stuff
