We went today (Feb 28, 2020) and had a wonderful time. We reserved a tour and the tour guide was excellent. She provided information on the background of each animal (how it came to be at the facility) and their names and sprinkled various tidbits of information into her presentation. The animals were all very well taken care of and many had such personalities making it fun. It took about 1 to 1 1/2 hours for the tour and we had plenty of time to ask questions. We petted a deer that had come from a boy scout camp and liked being petted. It is not a huge site. The enthusiasm of the tour guide and the animal care giver's role in taking care of the animals showed how much they cared about these animals. Hours are limited and reservations needed so make sure you don't just try to stop by. The roads closer to Lions, Tigers and Bears are narrow and bumpy.

This is a wonderful experience for adults and children alike to get up close to these animals. It also is educational for everyone, and helps provide for the care of these wonderful animals!

We had a great tour with our guide Susie. She was very knowledgeable about all the animals. You can tell she knows and loves them all. They are all so well taken care of. She collected peacock feathers for us and told us how to clean them for displaying in the house. Definitely will be back.

Now, I do understand that all money raised goes to feed the animals. My issue was the fact that they advertised $10 for adults on their website under events for their Open House Easter Weekend, but yet said it was $15 for adults when we arrived. Supposedly they had recently had a price increase. The website did say that the price was $15 for adults but this $10 price was listed under events--so I was to assume that this event was $10 as stated. They seemed to be confused when I pointed this out to them and made me pay the $15 each. Not I know it does not seem like much but I was paying for more than one person and I had driven over an hour to get there. I felt that they should have honored the advertised price for me since I had brought it their attention. The place was not large, we were told the first tour did not start until 10:30 am, but to wander at our leisure. We did wander and later discovered that since we wandered, we had then seen a good part of the tour. We were disappointed.

This place is nearly impossible to find. There is no sign on the highway, and the access road (Ernest St.) is at the back of the Arcadia Stockyard auction complex parking lot. About 500ft. in, you'll hit a "driveway" on the right which is labeled NE Bahia Ct. It's a single lane gravel drive to the sanctuary. As the place is open to the public only on certain days & times, you'll need to call for an appointment to get the best experience. The owner conducts the tours and requires reservations. The animals are all rescues, which makes the place different from regular zoos and theme parks. This is a no-frills back-yard flavored experience where you'll hear the background stories of animals cruelly orphaned for various reasons; mostly by people who don't consider, care or understand that exotic animals don't make acceptable "pets".
Our host, Lynn, mentioned that she conducts an evening Safari tour where guests are invited to attend the feeding of the animals, when they are at their most active. They then enjoy a prepared BBQ dinner too; (requires reservations and a suggested appropriate group size as the cost is $250) . Call for details regarding this and other special events that the owners offer. Allow an hour or two. The Donation as of this review is $10 /person; CASH ONLY. Bring bug repellent.

We visited here in April. There were three of us and we had our own personal tour. Our tour guide was well informed about the animals and interacted with many through the fence of their enclosures so we could see them up and about. The animals are very well taken care of and we all really enjoyed our visit. They do wonderful work here and it is a must see and worth the trip if you are not nearby. They had many tigers, Florida panthers, a lion, a bear and several others. We got to pet the deer and the gibbons are a hoot.

This place is great - the drive in might make you think differently but it's well worth it . Our tour was just myself,my husband and another family with three girls. It really gives you the opportunity to see the animals, ask questions and hear all their stories. We saw several tigers including a really little one, panthers, bobcats and a lion among other animals. The owner is very passionate about the animals and providing the best care possible. The setting is a beautiful wooded piece of property.Strictly run by volunteers and donations - really a cool place and definitely worth a visit .
