The Yukon River Bridge is the only one crossing the Yukon River. It is an enormous structure holding the pipeline on one side. It is covered with a metal casing. Some of the best viewing of this bridge is from the Yukon Visitors area where there are 2 very nice wooden view platforms. It is so impressive to see the amount and swiftness of the water flowing. At the visitor's center there is lots of information so take advantage of the stop. There are outdoor toilets for use. This is a perfect place to pick some wild Alaskan blueberries that are far tastier than the very large blueberries sold in most stores.

I joined Arctic Circle Winter Drive Adventure Tour, which was a round trip to Yukon River Bridge. It was a very long, rather boring, trip on a snowy day.
The bridge is officially known as the E. L. Patton Bridge, which is a 700m-long, 9.1m-wide girder bridge spanning the Yukon River. It carries both the Dalton Highway and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
After crossing over the bridge, our van parked on the other side of the river. Then, we got off the van and walked on the thick snow that covered the frozen river.

It was great to see the Might of Yukon river up close. The Bridge is the only Bridge over River Yukon in all Alaska. There is a Camp , Restaurant and Gas Available here and nothing in between to either Fairbanks or Coldfoot. Nothing too Fancy to see , but a great place for Pictures of Bridge , Yukon River , Alaska Pipeline , a small Visitor Centre

If you have never been to the Yukon River Bridge, it's a must visit location!
Being the only bridge over the Yukon River in Alaska, it's the only place where you can cross the river by vehicle and spend time near the bank of this mighty water flow.
There is a restaurant there and gas if needed. nothing fancy, but when that far from the city any food is welcomed.
This bridge is more then just transportation to the north slope, but it also holds the Alaskan Pipeline in it's construction.
The views are wonderful and a great experience to log on your bucket list.

Visited this place along the Dalton highway on my way to the Arctic. Stopped by the river on a small fur-trapper's cabin. He was very kind and offered me snow mobile rides in and around. He also took me into the forests to spot some wildlife. Take a stroll close to the banks of the Yukon river, but don't go far. In winters, the river might not be frozen entirely, and it can be quite dangerous. It was extremely cold when I visited, at around -55F. It is a wonderful place to be to admire the size of this mighty river, but there is nothing much to do here apart from clicking a few photographs.

We decided we were to tired to keep going so $199 got us a camp room with twin beds. I work in camps and I never get put in accommodation that nice. That was the best sleep I had in a few days. The restaurant was your basic burger fare. They did have a veggie burger option.

Going up the Haul Road (Dalton Highway), this is the one stop between Fairbanks and the Arctic Circle. Get off the road right after you cross the bridge. Stick your toes in the Yukon River, and fill your tank and your belly at the Yukon River Camp. It's not much to look at, but it's good diner food, and an indoor bathroom (which you won't find anywhere else on the road).
