Superb birding with Tamasz, our excellent guide from Wings of Hungary. It could not have been better. He guided us safely in his car through all the different habitats, we saw 13 different species of raptors, very many migrating waders as well as herons, spoonbills, and other waterfowl. Kingfishers, penduline tits, bearded reedlings, a truly excellent holiday, thanks to Tamasz.

Wir haben diese Reise unternommen, um endlich auf den Pferden so richtig Vollgas geben zu können und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Grün war üppig, obwohl nur Ebene, gab es kaum Wind. Viele Tiere wie Rehe, Wildhasen, Falken, einfach nur schön. Interessant auch die Sanddünen.

I made a birdwatching day trip to Kiskunsági National Park with Tamas, from WingsOfHungary.com
Winter is a relative quite season, but thanks to the field experience of Tamas, we saw a lot of birds wintering there, including thousand of geese, long-eared owl, bearded reedling, woodpeckers, great bustards...
I recommand such a trip if you are birdwatcher. Tamas can pick you up in Budapest with his car.

Árvalányhaj virágzás közepén néztük meg a fülöpházi buckavidéken található Báránypirosito tanösvényt. Nagy élmény volt a 2,6 km hosszú túra, nagyon informatív és érdekes tájékoztató táblákkal megtűzdelve. Megelevenedik az ember szeme előtt a homokdűnék világa. Az őshonos növények, minta a boróka és a nyárfa uralják a területet. Ennyi boróka bokrot egy helyen még nem láttam!

Az ősz teljes színpompája élvezhető ilyenkor október végén. A természetesen és a mesterségesen kialakított környezet egysége érzékelhető, mely a hozzáértő szakemberek munkáját dicséri.

There are so many special birds and animals here. You can find them in their original environment. This national park contains many tourist way and student road. Not just one area but many separate little city, park and lake belong to this area.

Lassan az összes tájvédelmi körzetet és főbb területet bejártam már (jó, hiányzik azért még pár mocsár, rét, szikes), és bármikor szívesen vissza is térek. Kolon-tó, Peszéradacs, Orgoványi-rétek, Apajpuszta, Bugacpuszta = varázslat.

Für alle, die Natur, Ruhe und die ungarische Puszta lieben. Immer wieder. Mehrmals im Jahr. Der Wechsel der Jahreszeiten ist unbeschreiblich.

Er staan enkele bordjes aan de randen van dit park, maar....... er zijn geen verharde wegen doorheen.
Wij waren met een normale personenauto, en dat is eigenlijk niet te doen.
De paden waren karresporen (of van tractoren van de plaatselijke boeren) met hele diepe kuilen erin.
Een helse tocht!~
Maar de natuur is er wel mooi en er is verder niemand (uiteraard).

This is the second oldest national park of Hungary, established in 1975. It is made up of seven disjoint units.The most special parts are salt-marshes and sand dunes. You need to appreciate the beauty of flatlands to enjoy it. Birdlife is very rich.
I spent one week of summer in an ornithology camp in this national park a couple of times when I was a kid, the photos are from those times.

HOw do we get from Budapest to this park for a one day trip, if we will not have a car while we stay there for a week during the month of April??
