We stayed at Baird Bay Eco Accommodation - 2 families (10 adults) in the Eco house, has 4 bedrooms with ensuites very luxurious, boat and kayaks included.
Kangaroos come to visit each evening to graze on the green lawn.
Great place to stay - plenty of room- the ice and coffee machine got a workout.
Trish and Alan very helpful...

The Baird Bay sea lion and dolphin swim is a once in a lifetime experience that is not to miss. We saw this last minute on the internet, and decided to give it a go. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but that gave us much more time to prepare for the swim, and meet the staff. They gave us very warm wetsuits and had a huge variety in sizes - from super small kids to XXL. When we were first going out, everyone was a bit nervous, but by the time we reached the place where we swim with the dolphins, the staff had done such a good job of readying us, that we were all rushing to be the first in the water!
At most places like this, the animals are forced, or unnaturally lured out to where we were, but here, the sea lions and dolphins came straight for us when they saw our boat.
Some people got a bit cold after about an hour in the water, but it's definitely worth pushing through the cold to continue playing with the sea lions. I think that by the end, everyone felt very safe, and happy with the amazing experience.

We stayed in the campground and fortunately had a tinnie for fishing. The camp fits about six caravans and has a honesty box of $10 per night with shelter for happy hour and a Eco loo nearby. Overlooks the bay with sensational sunsets and a great lookout. Get a signal from the lookout but have to About six kms past the cemetery together wi fi. You cannot fish from the bank as full of weed so must have a boat to fish for the Kings George whiting. Most tried the Eco experience to see the sea lions at the island. Cost $130 per person and everyone loved snorkelling amongst them or just watching.

Wow wow wow what more can I say this is an ultimate experience and if its something you have always wanted to do then do it. We actually did swim with the seals tour in Port Lincoln the day before this one and was so loved it that on our drive back to Perth decided to stop and do this one. OMG if I had known about Baird Bay before I would have skipped the Port Lincoln trip and done this one twice. Firstly the Port Lincoln tours are way more expensive for a family of 4 and you spend over an hour getting to the seals and have a lot of passengers with you. Baird Bay you drive straight to the beach and jump on the boat and within 15 minutes are with the seals. In Port Lincoln you are limited to about 45 minutes in the freezing water with about 20 others all trying to get a moment with the seals. Don't get me wrong I loved the tour but only because I didn't know any better. With Alan he let us swim with the seals as long as they were interested to play with us and did they want to play we were out there for almost 3 hours he also took us to another spot where he knew the dolphins would be and that was mind blowing I have never swam with dolphins this close before they seemed to enjoy swimming around us. An absolutely amazing trip if you are wanting to swim with seals then forget Port Lincoln and come to Baird Bay. If I had known we would have stayed 2 days and gone a 2 nd time if we hadn't already done Port Lincoln

I took three of my four kids on this Eco experience and we loved it. My youngest Boy who is six was too scared to get in but Alan made him feel safe on the boat so my 9 and 10 year old girls could snorkel with the sea lions and dolphins. Alan and his wife are amazing custodians of this beautiful part of the world. This was a life changing experience for me. Just do it you won't regret a visit to Baird Bay and a trip to meet the puppies of the sea.

sheer joy!... to be able to swim, interact and observe the sea lions is a blessing. Just the arrival of our boat bought about 20 sea lions (half) off the beach to come visit us. Once I got over the fact the waters were freezing I was able to wade in shore and stand in the shallows with these amazing animals. It's like a 360 degrees circus and I was laughing out loud. They are very friendly and very playful. However I would recommend the eco tour as they provide wet suits and shark detterents .

It's definitely a "thing to do"! There are no words for describe this experience, you just have to do it! We were not a lots of persons, just a group of 14 which was good. We started by have a look around a beach where sea lions were laying on the sun. No one was on the water and we saw daulphins so we moved. We had 3 times the opportunity to swin with them, it was amazing! After we came back near the beach for spent a long time in the water, playing and swiming with the sea lions.
For 150 $ AUS, it's a great value and an unforgettable adventure! Thanks to the crew!
