Very poorly organised event. Waited forever to get on the ferry from city. Came down cats and dogs on way over. The organisers would of known about the predicted wet weather. No catering for this whatsoever. Little tents to fit 400 people out of the weather. We were drenched. Food was so badly organised. The tables with food were placed so close together you could not access the food. Cues everywhere getting soaked. Pathetic timber cutlery that snapped in half first use. The drink area was mobbed with no one or thing to organise cues. People just plonked all over the place waiting to get a thimble full serve of wine for $9. Such greed. Then at 9.30pm they ran out of soft drinks. Nothing for the non drinkers. Desert was a joke. They brought one platter of cakes out which disappeared in 2 seconds flat. Too bad for the others. They should of allocated a ticket for desert and this would prevent people swooping in taking handfuls. Welcome drink was gone when we got there. Too bad for us. I got the feeling this was organised by young people ie back packers that had no clue on how to organise and cater for 400 people. And all of this came at the privilege of paying $410. I was extremely embarrassed for all the foreign tourists attending this event. What sort of stories would they take home about this disastrous event. Only positive thing was the fireworks. And you could of seen them for free anywhere in Sydney. Go to another event where you are assured of value for money and not greed focused organisers. In

Poor event management meant that 480 people tried to get dinner in small marquee. Described as a three course buffet, we were given a small bowl and knife and fork. Meat eaters got 5 different meats and veggies, us vegetarians just got the veggies - not good enough.
We waited more than an hour to get on the ferry over to the island then when we arrived the welcome drink had runt out. Staff were lovely but so very poorly organised and at over $400 per person, save your money and do something else.
There was insufficient shelter and the chairs were just left out in the rain for us to pick up.
What could have been a great event, even with the poor weather, really put the dampers on our NYE, physically and emotionally.

Clark Island is scenic island in the middle of Sydney Harbour named after Ralph Clark a Royal Marine who came to Australia on the First Fleet. We visited the island on a National Parks guided tour stopping at Goat Island, Fort Denison and Clark.

I love this age of pop-ups. There are flash stores, temporary eateries and ephemeral cafes that pander to our shrinking attention spans and the constant yearning for perpetual newness.
Previously glamping was experienced at kakadu, Byron Bay and at music festivals but now you can try the second option after Cocatoo Island here at Clark. Being shipwrecked is not the experience but being near Darling Point and less than a hectare in size, the island offers a staggering views over Sydney, Opera House, Bridge and city skyline. The vibe equals part African safari and Gilligan's Island with a native twist. Circular Quay is five minutes away in a water taxi.

The Tribal Warrior experience in Sydney is well recommended for anyone interested in early Aboriginal History at the time of colonisation by Governor Macquarie. We had a day trip from the opera house steps out to Clark Island for a guided tour around the island to understand the fishing culture of the aboriginals including the use of natural fish traps, the food abundance from around the shores of the island and a cultural experience overlooking Sydney Harbour. The views from Clark Island back to the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge also add to an excellent experience. Lunch aboard on the way back was also well worth the experience.

My family still remember the wonderful pirate parties we had on Clark Is. They enjoyed the boat ride and clambering up the rugged terrain to find hidden treasure which father had created beforehand. We have taken overseas visitors,Scouts and disabled people there and they all loved the wonderful views of the Harbour Icons. Details of transport and the small fee to pay to National Parks is on the Net. Private boats can anchor off the jetty.

I would like to get to this island with 2 people that isn’t going to cost an arm and a leg. With a water taxi it would be $70-120 ONE WAY which is absurd to get there and back. I don’t own a boat and I can’t wait 2 months for the three island tour, which doesn’t allow me to spend as much time on the island as I would like. Can anyone help? Is there an Uber Boats?

Hi, Clark Island is part of Sydney Harbour National Park and permission is required to land on the island. You can go to the island during special events or on a National Parks "Three Islands Tour" which includes Goat Island, Fort Denison and a BYO picnic lunch on Clark Island. The next tour is on 9 Jan 2019.
Cheers
