200 pesos per person to access the short hike and waterfalls. It was a perfect detour. The water was warm and perfect. It was pretty full when we were there with lots of families.

The real reason to come here to the rancho is for the mountains, waterfall and the hikes. These are wonderful and worth the effort. We booked a tour with Edgardo at Bajasierraadventures.com and it was a great day of hiking and kayaking. But there is much written about the natural area. This review focuses on the lodging at the ranch.
We (two couples, Mexican residents) stayed in units 5 and 3 for two nights. Bring a flashlight, it is really dark walking around after sunset. Each "unit" consists of two well-constructed brick buildings. There is room for at least four people to sleep in one unit, and more if you wanted to use sleeping bags. The queen-size bed was comfortable, we did not try the single beds. The unit with the "kitchen" was large with two singles beds, a table and chairs, sink and dishware. There is no refrigerator and the two burner hotplate had no gas. (Possibly the owners would sell gas if asked but we didn't bother. ) The bathroom worked ok but not luxury. There is a large balcony on top of the kitchen but no chairs or table. Still, it is a nice view. The restaurant is very good with surprisingly upscale food. Be sure to make dinner reservations when you book your cabin. It is not a particularly friendly place and we always felt like we were bothering the staff if we asked for coffee or anything. Mercedes, who escorted us to our rooms and served us meals, is the exception, very good service and assistance when she was present. Overall, we are very happy we spent two days there. The bioreserve and guides from Baja Sierra Adventures are first-rate. But for the price, next time we will sleep in Santiago or even La Ribera in a nice condo for the same price.

This was a slice of Heaven! Just gorgeous and so fun. The hike down to the waterfall and swimming hole was a bit rough for me, at nearly 60 with bad hips and knees, but absolutely worth it! We went with two other couples and everyone loved it. A definite highlight of our time in the area.

A place you have to go if you want to disconnect from technology, you have all the services available such as water, electricity and a campfire, food, etc., but you can also bring your own meals to make since you have a gas stove, enjoy the Nature walks, seeing the animals and feeling the water of the waterfall are the best, ideal if you go with family and friends

This was a beautiful hike to an amazing waterfall that you can swim. The hike can be deceiving as it is generally a short hike to the waterfall (about 1/2 mile), however, the route is very steep with boulders and hiking boots were definitely helpful at the final stretch and on the way back out. We arrive right at 8:40 am, which the website said it opened at 9, but the posted hours were 8 am to 8 pm. So keep that in mind. We hiked and spent an hour at the waterfall with no other visitors, only after we were on our way out did it seem to get busy. Numerous groups were arriving just after 10:15 am. The area is quiet, there is one bathroom (more like an outhouse style/porta potty) on the trail. Otherwise, plan to bring drinks and everything you need to hang out. There were only locals arriving as we visited on a Thursday morning, but it was mostly families with young children. This is probably one of the more beautiful waterfalls we’ve been to that we could swim and get so up close to. The drive from San Jose del Cabo was very easy and quick. The final 15 km is a dirt road, however, we were able to have no problem getting there in our rental VW Jetta.

This is a magical swimming hole that is worth the drive. Be prepared to drive down a 10 km dirt road (in good condition) where you might think you've gone the wrong way. But you haven't. The road has great signage that consistently keep you on the path and your reward is this absolute gem of a swimming hole. It's a steep walk down and then back up, so bring good shoes with some grip. And bring some water to drink in the heat. Enjoy this little piece of paradise.

Good day trip, make sure you have the proper vehicle to get down the sandy/washboard road. The hike itself is pretty short, but you need to be comfortable with hiking on rocks, steep, and uneven trail. Wear good shoes, and not flip flops. Waterfall is beautiful and we enjoyed the scenery. Our trail info said it was about a 1.5 mile hike each, but it was more like half a mile each way. Maybe if you decide to go all the way on less marked trail to above the waterfall it is longer, but we decided not to because of the narrow trail and steep dropoff.

My Wife and I rented some Quads in Los Barriles and then drove them up to Sol de Cabo. When we got there we stopped at the restaurant and had a bite to eat.
I had the shrimp quesadillas, and my wife had the cauliflower tacos. So my shrimp quesadillas were fantastic, they gave me three very delicious quesadillas, with some sour cream, they were so good lots of flavor. My wife's cauliflower tacos were fantastic as well, she said that they had lots of flavor and were very filling. They have Pacifico Clara and Corona.
Then after we had a quick bite we walked down to the waterfalls, a 5-10 minute walk. The waterfall is beautiful, there is a little pond at the base of the waterfall that you can go for a bit of a dip in. The water is cool but very refreshing.
It's a lovely place to stop and get some beautiful views into nature.
There is a fee to enter 150 Pesos per person. They do take USD as well.

Closed-
only open to occupants in lodging. Was able to translate a possible opening later in the week but after contacting at “WhatsApp”, the employee informed me of the visitors cannot access unless staying at lodging 4 days later. Such a shame for those looking for a side trip away from beaches. I hope they can support themselves this way.
I have visited many times prior with family and friends. A beautiful location. A bit challenging and steep hike to the falls pool. Must be mindful of steps descending and back up.

Is this place near Todos Santos at all? Is it an easy and safe drive from Todos?
Scritta in data 6 ottobre 2019
Not really. Todos Santos is on the Pacific coast and this place is is in the middle between the two coasts. You can definitely drive there by going over the mountains or by going down through Cabo.

Hello,
What car did you drive? Wondering if we would be able to make the drive with a midsize car. Thanks!
Scritta in data 29 maggio 2019
We had a really cheap rental car (that we ended up paying $1000 for at the airport). But it was fine here, driving to the hot spring and the waterfall. The roads were sandy and could be soft in spots, but it wasn't really a problem at all. Might be hard if it's wet?

How far of a drive from CSL, and directions please....
Scritta in data 11 gennaio 2015
Es lamentable que no le haya contestado oportunamente. ¡Qué esté bien!
Scritta in data 24 novembre 2015
Hi, how long is the drive from CSL, and best way to get there??
Scritta in data 11 gennaio 2015
Hi. It's about 25 minutes from SJD, so add from CSL to that. There's a clearly marked overhead road sign to Santiago on the highway. Once you're in town, there are many signs along the way to the waterfall or ask any local and they can confirm the direction. Once in Santiago it's about 10 minutes on a well kept dirt road, then a 10 minute hike from the parking area. Well worth the $6 US admission.
