After Renovation of Museum there is a lot of improvement. The centre now stands out to an international level. Please spare 2-3 hrs minimum for an enjoyable visit. Museum is world standard and just like visiting any museum abroad. Museum gives you a lot of information about elephants which is highly informative especially to kids.

Elephants are also looked after nicely. There is a new Elephant arts gallery which displays some of the outstanding elephant arts works , which includes life size models, pictures, craft works etc.

There is small area which displays medicinal plants & it is worth visiting.

Childrens play area is also good but needs some upgradation.

Some pictures are attached.

Overall, what this center does is impressive - rescue abandoned or hurt wild elephants and rehabilitate them. It is possible to ride a domesticated animal but you will need to get to the facility early for that. Check with locals regarding details (we couldn't find reliable information anywhere online). You may be a bit unnerved, as I was, by the fact that the elephants are chained, but the mahoots assured us that this was for the wellbeing of the wild animals as well as for our safety till they were fully tamed.

We arrived at Annakood early in the morning and as a result were able to see the mahouts busy at work giving the elephants a scrub. We also saw them being fed. The handlers were very caring & respectful of the elephants. As we had requested a ride on an elephant, Priyadarshini was prepared for a safari. The children enjoyed the experience on Priyadarshini. A good place for elephant lovers to visit.

Seeing elephants is a great joy, and when the elephants are young, the joy is boundless.

At Konni Elephant training camp there will be naughty young elephants in captive, obtained from forests nearby. Actually they are the ones who got separated from their herds. It is a challenge to tame them in Kraal, feeding them properly. The sight of these elephants will make children happy as well.

The whole environment is like a forest.

There is also Elephant safari, where you can travel on top of big elephants

April 2019 - Dismal place for Elephants and visiting humans. The elephant ride was 3 minutes or less for Re.600. The mahout was rude, insisted he sit in between the two female riders, refused to let us take pictures with the elephant and insisted that he and secondary mahout get a tip. During the short ride, he constantly shouted at the animal. He did not allow us to touch the elephant after the ride and said " that's all that happens here". The reserve is very small, and nobody was knowledgeable enough to speak to the visitors (other than when they were selling things in the store). Having been in several other places that keep elephants and other elephant rides, I would not recommend this place at all. I have lodged an official complaint about the mahouts and the condition of the elephants in this miserable place. Eco-tourism at its worst.

This was our first trip to Konni and we went to the elephant krall and park, quite close to town. Sign boards are good and one will not miss the place. Failry large parking area. We saw a small elephant inside the larger wooden cage. Elephants are kept outside, trained ones. You can make a savari on top of the elephant. So thrilling. The place is having lot of trees. Many plants too. There is a shop selling forest products, all run by Govt depts. Very pleasing experience

Though you don't get to see the elephants being trained you do get a close up view of the elephants. You will get to see the elephants splashing and spraying themselves with water. The elephants are taken one at a time to a water source usually a huge tub of water and then you get to see them splash water all over themselves. You will also get to see elephant calves usually 12 months or lesser. You. An easily spend a couple of hours here.

This is hands down the most unexpected incredible adventurous experience. Riding an Elephant sitting on its bare back, feeling every moment of it's leg, shoulders, sitting that high, the gentle and powerful movement of the elephant. Nothing tops this.
