Small-scale zoo in a friendly environment. The housing of the animals is somewhat dated but is being worked on. All support is welcome.

It wasn't a great day, but the kids wanted to be kept busy. The zoo was hit hard by the floods and unfortunately many animals drowned.
The zoo administration is making a lot of effort to restore the zoo to its original state. But when the government's funding for the Ahr Valley is slow or non-existent, it takes time. That's why it's all the more important to support the zoo with entrance fees, buying food and the local catering. There are still a lot of animals there and the kids had a lot of fun. The big playground also made the kids forget the bad weather. The best experience for us was seeing jungle dingoes. They were so cute. Of course we googled them straight away and... Unfortunately, they are not allowed to be kept privately in Europe (and rightly so). We immediately fell in love with these dog-like dingoes. They are even cuddlier than our Aussies and Border Collies, but we wanted to keep our hands 🤷
So definitely go and support the zoo.

This relatively small animal park is nice for visit a couple of hours when tou are already in the region.
They have had a lot of trouble with the flood two years ago so not everyting is ready again, it will be hopefully in the near future.
Visiting is not expensive but do not have a very high expectation.
Best visit on a day when it is not to warm while some animals will get out of te sun so you can not see them well.

We always enjoy going there, there are two lovely playgrounds to let off steam and feeding the animals is always fun with the children.
Unfortunately the flood hit the zoo hard, but work is constantly being done to repair everything.
The train is also running again, which is an absolute highlight for us :)!

Nice little zoo with some animals that you don't always see in the standard zoos. Consequences of the floods are still visible. Friendly staff. Modest catering. Too bad you couldn't pay by card everywhere. Highly recommended though.

The privately run Eifel Zoo is a beautiful spot on earth. The animals have plenty of space and are very happy. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Even the two flood disasters that hit the family and the zoo very hard have already been partially repaired.
I can't quite understand some of the reviews here that have only given two or fewer stars.
Because in my opinion it doesn't read like a review, but more about personal sensitivities
There are two playgrounds for children, these are fairly new and well maintained.
Parents can enjoy a coffee and a piece of cake in peace at the café while the children play on the playground.
There are also chips, bratwurst, currywurst and pizzas. We ate the pizza and it is more than recommended.
We recommend the zoo. It is a beautiful destination and it feels like a vacation. Even if not everything has been repaired yet. But it is being diligently built and maintained.

Mooie dierentuin, groot genoeg om je een dag te vermaken. Het is er schoon maar hier en dan zie je nog sporen van de overstroming van 2018. De dieren lijken er erg hongerig maar dat kan een plan zijn om de dieren meer met mensen te laten soccieren.

Een niet zo groot dierenpark met een aardige collectie, maar niet veel echt bijzonders. Wat minder geziene dieren zijn de jak, civetkat(grappig, deze ruikt naar popcorn) en de dingo.
Het park is nog aan het terugkrabbelen van een overstroming in 2018 en heeft het en der echt nog wel wat opknapwerk nodig.
Wel heel jammer dat op de site het treintje nog staad geadverteerd en zelfs bij de kassa de prijs voor een ticket hiervoor staat, maar deze al 5 jaar dus niet meer rijdt.

Ein kleiner familiengeführter Zoo in der Eifel, der leider durch diverse Naturkatastrophen in den letzten Jahren stark gebeutelt wurde. Dennoch sehr freundliches Personal und tolle Tiere. Kein riesiger Zoo aber mit trotzdem einen Ausflug wert. Wir kommen wieder!

Der Park hat seine besten Zeit eindeutig hinter sich. Zudem wurde er in einem Hochwasser vor ein paar Jahren beschädigt und einiges sieht weiterhin herunter bekommen aus.
Für sehr kleine Kinder ist es immer noch in Ordnung, so lange sie die Situation der Tiere nicht in Frage stellen aber ältere werden schnell merken, dass es vielen Tieren nicht besonders gut geht und dass das Konzept auch echt aus der Vergangenheit stammt.
