Beautiful estate in the middle of the Breton and Normandy countryside (the border is not far), ideal to receive ceremonies, weddings...

Super après-midi passé dans ce très beau domaine normand. Le parc est très bien entretenu ce qui rend la promenade très agréable surtout lorsque le soleil est au rendez-vous (on peut apercevoir au loin le Mont saint Michel). La visite du château est très intéressante pour le passionné d'histoire que je suis; on y découvre un personnage souvent oublié des manuelles. Enfin, pour avoir discuté avec le sympathique gérant du site, je conseil à tous de venir pendant les journées du patrimoine, car l’événement prévu au château semble vraiment spectaculaire!

Très belle et bonne journée passée au chateau de la rouerie en famille, le parc est très agréable et les arbres sont magnifiques ! Les moutons sont très mignons et j'avoue avoir beaucoup joué dans la bergerie ! A recommander pour ceux qui veulent s'y marier !

En séjour dans le secteur nous avons choisi de faire le parc animalier avec nos 3 enfants. Vraiment très déçu d'avoir déboursé 20 euros pour voir simplement plusieurs races de mouton!
Franchement aucun intérêt!
Préférez un autre site.
Pour le château vu simplement de l'extérieur mais loin d'être exceptionnel.

Nous vous remercions pour votre avis et sommes désolé pour cette expérience que vous avez eu de notre site.
Il est regrettable que vous n'ayez pas pu assister à la visite guidée du château, c'est pourquoi il y a dû avoir une erreur de notre part car nous proposons un tarif réduit si vous n'assistez pas à la visite guidée.
Nous sommes sincèrement désolé pour ce contre-temps et n'hésitez surtout pas lorsque vous repasserez dans la région à revenir nous rendre visite, nous vous offrirons une visite guidée privative du site.

Y a ce qu'il faut pour passer une belle journée ...
visite du château et de son histoire, la bergerie avec une rare collection de races de moutons, de l'espace pour se promener en calèche, et surtout une attraction vivante grâce aux responsables des lieux qui sont gentils, accueillants et rigolos (clin d'œil à Malo et son joli déguisement)

The young brothers who are opening their house to the public were extremely welcoming and spoken impeccable English. One was hard at work in the grounds and the other buzzed past us on a bicycle heading to the house to take a small group of visitors around. We missed this tour and in any case it was in French but he kindly took we 4 Brits around when we arrived later on.
Entrance prices are relatively modest at €7.50 for adults, 5-16 year olds are €5.50 and infants under 5 are free. This is a work in progress. At the entrance there is somewhere to buy a few gifts and ice creams. Ample parking in a field and a couple of minutes walk to the chateau.
Walk past the long vista of lawn edged in conical yew bushes that leads to the chateau and you cross the marked boundary between Normandy and Brittany that traces the edge of the grounds. You'll find some rustic pens with different varieties of sheep and goats which children will enjoy especially.
The brothers are the latest generation of the family who have owned the property for 200 years. They have thrown themselves into this new venture and although it is early days and a little unsophisticated ( hand written signs and only half a dozen rooms open so far) it is charming and well worth a visit. Apparently they are a wedding venue too.
Check opening times on the website (in French) as it tends to be summer weekday afternoons only from 1.30 or 2pm. Weekends start earlier at 10.30am. Finish time 6.30pm.
The chateau and previous owner make for an interesting history and links to America. The Marquis who was deposed by the French Revolution was a close friend of George Washington having fought for and supported the embryonic in American country in the War of Independence. He invited Washington to his wedding at the chateau and decorated a room especially for him but Washington wrote to send his apologies. Unfortunately the Marquis displayed few democratic leanings when he returned to France as despite being more liberal he was a monarchist and fell foul of the First French Republic having to escape to a neighbouring property when revolutionary forces came calling.
More recently the property was the first to be liberated in Brittany (being right on the border) when American forces came through in World War II.
There are battle field models in the chateau of engagements in the War of Independence and WWII. Some modest artefacts and signs of a family in residence make this a charming place to see even if it is a little off the beaten track.
Some nice photographic opportunities in the pretty grounds too.
