The male and female dolls are truly beautiful elegant in their traditional costume and am so impressed. The entrance ticket a bit expensive but worth it, and you can choose package or activities that you can enjoy at Chanteek Borneo.

The main objective of this museum is to show the varieties of fashion of local and indigenous people in Sabah. They dressed up dolls with these and put it up on display.
Kinda spooky if you come alone at night though hahaha.
Anyway there's lots to learn here, if you are interested in this kind of thing.

The museum is great for foreign tourist to learn about the cultures, the ethnics, and the costumes of the Borneo people in Sabah and Sarawak. Although, it needs more explanation and guided history. I feel that the place is too scrambled without proper section.
But DOLLS. DOLLS are everywhere. From miniature houses to miniature costumes. A for effort that the designer/choreographer who designs the placing of the dolls and their costumes. It was truly a beautiful scene. Needs a little bit tidying up but the dolls were amazing.
Activities, other than visiting the museum, visitors are offered to wear basic traditional costumes, wear full accessories traditional costume, experience some traditional local games, learn basic local language, learn Sumazau dance and play the gongs (drums).
Overall it was a great experience. You'll have to experience it yourself to enjoy it!

This is run entirely by volunteers to show some elements of the local culture, so dont expect a lot but nice to think you are supporting the locals.

Traditional dress of every ethnic group in Sabah are lovingly recreated on Barbie size dolls and displayed in village life scenes. Well worth a short visit. And your can grab an ice cream bar to snack on afterward while you your children play on the local instruments in the entryway. A good, brief introduction to the peoples of Borneo. This museum is all the work of one industrious woman, who created each doll. She has a few more for sale in the gift shop.

Nice collection of dolls with traditional costumes. Tge arrangement was pretty neat and the food was great. Also enjoyed the traditional games

This place offers many little figurines wearing different ethnic costumes all over Sabah. They are well made and kids love to see the intricate and delicate designs. Besides that they offer visitors the chance to play traditional games and take part in cultural activities. Visitors can also dress up in traditional costumes while touring the gallery.

As soon as you arrive, there's nothing much to see from the outside... wait till you go inside. In front of the entrance, there are few of the miniature dolls dressed up in traditional custom of Sabahan ethnic. So cute i might add! ok, so you need to register & pay for the entrance fees. Then, you will be given the opportunity to wear an AUTHENTICATE MURUT costume! After that, the tour begins by the tour guide. First and foremost, the introduction of Sabahan Ethnic and their distributions. Once it done, the next room will AMAZE you. Listen to the explaination people! it's interesting to know few facts about the Sabahan. Take pictures.. ask questions.. get to know the Sabahan people more! Their traditions, Do's & Don't. Food.. Marriage :) At the end of the tour, you'll be directed to the shop. Please support the gallery by purchasing some of the dolls. Maybe some hand made soap? or just a simple WAKID will do. In the end, you might be threat to a simple performance, perform by the tour guide, tailor and shop assistant. Have fun you!

Stopped here as its on our way to Kundasang anyway. Pleasantly surprised by our little detour! The staff on hand was very knowledgeable and tried her best to entertain all our questions. They even put up a small performance for us even though we just paid for the basic tour.

“EMBRACING THE WONDERS OF SABAH ETHNICITY”My first visit to Chanteek Borneo is one of the greatest experiences that I ever had during my field trips in Sabah. Basically, Chanteek Borneo is one of mini museum that displayed small mannequin that are dress up with traditional costume that shows the ethnicity of Sabah culture from all sides of places.Apart from the mannequin, they also do sell some souvenir from the beads, handicrafts and to name a few. Honestly, Chanteek Borneo is out of my expectation as soon I arrived there. The place itself portrays uniqueness and beautiful especially inside of the place itself.From the outside view can be deceiving like normal house does but as soon I step inside the Chanteek Borneo, it is basically out from my expectation although the place is small but for people that keen to culture, this is the perfect place for people to choose which resemblance all in together Sabah ethnic and multi-culture. Aside from that, they also provide lot of fun activities for guest to experience it. My trip to Chanteek Borneo was led by my lecture, Mdm. Siti Zuraini and with my classmates from UiTM KOTA KINABALU and the same with me my seniors was conducted a mini seminar at this place. Before we have a tour, we were giving brief by Abg Mohd. Ridhwan, a General Manager of Chanteek Borneo for a few hours.. Luckily, my classmates and I are able to experience Sabah traditional games such as slingshot in Malay word they called it '‘lastik’', blowpipe as in '‘menyumpit’' and many more games that technically different from any states in Malaysia including Sarawak as well. Then, after done playing traditional games, we were being taught one of the staff in Chanteek Borneo, Saiful Munir our choreographer, to dance traditional Sabah dance which are call Sumandak style and Kadazan-Dusun style. Hence, we were also got the chance to experience playing traditional music instrument such as “gong”, “gamelan”, and more. I must say, that day was pack with people and rousing with different kinds of activities that makes the place livelier especially for adults to appreciate more the beauty of Sabah culture. One of the highlight of my trip would be trying out the foods from Sabah. The food that being prepared was very unique in a way it makes me very impressive and cannot wait to dine in. Unlike all places, the environment of Chanteek Borneo was as small restaurant but feels like an a hometown environment. Despite that, I able to taste all their food and what impressed me is their food taste good and not bad for small restaurant as compare to other places. Dishes that are prepared are ‘ambuyat’ which is my favourite, ‘ikan masak lemang’, chicken curry, ‘sambal belacan’ with ladies finger, ‘jantung pisang’, ‘nasi bungkus’ and fruits. Every single one of the foods that was prepared is basically all traditional food from "kampong" style which suddenly reminds me to my hometown back in Sarawak. After our dinner, we are having night tour inside the Chanteek Borneo where they have displayed big mannequin and small ones are inside the Chanteek Borneo. Night tour was very fun and feel lively because there are many information that we gain from the conductor himself about the ethnics and cultures in Sabah. Based on my own observation, Sabah is rich with their ethnicity and the experience from the museums makes me felt as I am in any other places in Sabah. To conclude my review, for people that love culture as much as I do this would be the perfect place to visit and I recommend especially for people that choose to travel to Sabah as their next destination, please do put this at your bucket list and it is a must to go! There are so much information you can gain from the food, games and many more.
